robinson if he has his head on straight is a fine player. he seemed to get his life turned around in minnehaha. rogers is another similar player. if he is finally over his destructive behavior he has (had) enormous talent. someone will give him another chance the way the vikes gave koren a second chance. hakim has bad hands and is too small |

robinson does seem to want to be here. that is big. trying to find the next freeney is like trying to find the next steve smith. easier said than done. burgess was a good role player for the eagles. he just never got the chance because he got dinged |

i think inthe end ramsey will be traded for draft picks rather than a player. those kinds of trades are often too complicated to work

2. T.O.-Two reasons he won't be in Atlanta, Arthur Blank said he's not coming and Michael Vick doesn't want him there. He'll end up in Miami or KC. 3. S. Alexander-I have a better chance at being an Ealge than he does. They just did a huge extension for Westbrook, why would they sign someone who needs 20-25 carries a game? With them going to the SB, they'll have to find a way to keep him. 4. Randle El-He was overmatched as a #2 WR this year (34 rec, 1 TD) and now he's the Eagles #1 WR? I would love for them to make that huge of a mistake, but Reid and Banner are too smart for that. 5. Moulds-I could see him as a Redskin if Williams signs off on him. BTW, Williams thought Price was a prima donna when he had him in Buffalo, that's one big reason he won't be in the consideration for the Redskins. Plus I don't see Gibbs picking up a Parcells washout.. 6. Culpepper- Cards or Vikings.. Very outside chance for the Dolphins. 7. Ramsey- He wants to go somewhere and contend for the starting job.. Miami, Minnesota (if they deal Culpepper), NYJ, Cards, Lions (if they cut Harrington) are all possible destinations. 8. Chad Lewis will go back into retirement 9. R. Williams-Talk in Miami is that they will keep Brown and Williams.. Williams is cheap and Saban likes the 2 back system.. 10. K-Rob-Maybe Redskins as a #2, definitely not a #3.. If not he will find work somewhere as a #2.. Other thoughts on names mentioned in the thread- Hakim-Not a viable option on a winning football team, hasn't been a return threat since '00 Hutchinson-Too much $$ at one position for the Redskins to go after him, likely will end up back in Seattle or maybe in Houston.. As for the Ramsey for Rogers trade, why? Trading disappointing players for each other is one thing, but Rogers has never been healthy, had a drug suspension and an attitude problem. I wouldn't trade anything for him and would be wary with him as a free agent.

2-You're probably as right as possible on TO. He destroys that team as well I bet. 3-If they win the SB I can't see them letting him go. Th SB winning team doesn't just let the league MVP go. That'd be a nightmare for the organization. If they lose I think it is better than 50-50 he goes. And the Eagles are a pretty solid guess on where he ends up. They are scary with him. Scary. One issue. Does Seattle actually let an NFC team get him? 4-I think Randle El ends up here. If the Skins want a guy they get 'em. I just see Randle El as fitting with this team and coaches. No way Philly outbids us or anyone else probably for ANY free agent. 5-Please no. We don't need an aging former shell of anything on this team. A Moulds signing smacks of desperation and is a short term half-ass solution. I hope this doesn't happen. 6-Sage wisdom. Who QBs for Minnesota if he is gone though? They can't think Brad Johnson is anything more than a short timer. Although I still see this as very possible Childress did do some pretty good things with a relatively mobile and smart QB in Philly. Culpepper is a better version of McNabb given the same set of circumstances I think. Maybe Childress keeps him. 7-I still think Ramsey ends up in Miami. They got nothing at QB that is even short timer good. Maybe a 3rd and a 6th but who the heck knows? 8-Yeah...no. 9-If they let Alexander go then this is a given. I hope Williams ends up in Philly if Philly is going to get a back. I'd much rather them have Williams than Alexander. 10-Still leary of his character but that issue has been mitigated somewhat by the positive press he has received lately. They shouldn't spend much on him if they bring him in though. |

In --- G Steve Hutchinson for Arrington , Picks for Ramsey , Pick or picks or whatever means to get DE Robert Mathis from the colts . Add in Wr Randle EL , Fb Vernon Haynes , TE Christian Fauria and a proven physical corner ( Lenny Walls , Deshae Townsend , RW Mcquarters) i like all three starting or at nickel. DID i hear Cap issues??!! HAHA OLD NEWS MY FRIEND !!! Snyder Drops bombs every Year !!! Dont hold your breathe.... ![]() Last edited by taylorMaDefense; 01-23-2006 at 07:43 AM. |

Arrington stays-restructures deal Patten stays-Solid #3 WR The rest can easily be replaced.... I'm sure we will get picks for Ramsey. Seahawks wont trade Hutch for Lavar. Nate wants #1 CB money, and we dont need to waist that kind of money on a CB, because of the way our D is set up....I'd take Fauria in a heart beat to replace Royal....Haynes is a push, i love sellars and Haynes really would be an upgrade...Wane would be nice, but again to much money in one possition...Randle would be a nice pick up to bolster our Special teams, but i think we need a bigger WR to go accross the middle/deep opposie of Moss(J.Jerovicous)...I think chavous would be a nice complement to Taylor

Re: Real offseason predictions
MY bad on the Haynes pick...I was thinking of a RB...but i wouldn't mind picking him up for cheap as a replacment for Wynn at DE, as long as we also draft a DE in the 2nd or 3rd for pure passrushing as a safety net for haynes.

Welcome to the best B&G Forum in the world, and hope to see more posts. Your "Outs" may not be, as well as your "Ins". But that's OK! That's why we have an expert Redskins FO to prove us talent evaluators turned Cap spenders into bad guessers!

Stoutmire , Jimoh , and Royal are all cheap warm bodies and will in all likelyhood be back since they're near min contracts. Patten will be back because he is pretty good (maybe more as a #3 or with a QB that actually looks for him), and he just got a big contract and it'd cost more to toss him than to keep him. |

Re: Real offseason predictions
I don't see the 'Skins signing very many big name FA at this year, if any. I'll bet Arrington restructures (and proof-reads) his contract. Robert Royal is still a work in progress and will probably stay. The offensive line is playing just fine. Matt Bowen will be let go, Prioleau can take his place. Ramsey will earn too much for us to keep as a #2 (#3?) QB. B. Noble, W. Harris and C. Raymer either restructure or they'll be let go. Noble may just retire, actually. I don't what to make of James Thrash. He was one of my favorites when he first signed with the team like ten years ago. Saunders may try to bring over some reserve role players to help with the (new) offensive system. The biggest signing this year may just be a kicker. Of all the WR's out there that I would really be excited would be K. Robinsen or Brandon Lloyd.

Re: Real offseason predictions
Robinson is the most talented of the WR's, but if we sign him we would have to be sure he finally has his head on straight, if he truly does then I would sign him in a heartbeat, but he would have to structure his contract to protect us if he falls off the wagon, if he's willing to do that then I believe he's showing that he believes in his ability to succeed and stay clean, if not we shouldn't bother.
Perhaps S.Springs will go along way in convincing Gibbs on whether or not he's OK, obviously something clicked when he joined minnesota he was defiently a different person at least on the field. Perhaps he is another Chris Carter in the making. |
