Outside of Moss, I am not a fan of our wideouts. Let them prove me wrong.

When you think about it, we haven't had so much as a solid wideout duo since '99 with Westbrook and Connell. Lloyd or Randle El have to step the hell up this year. |

Wow, thanks to this thread I now have an uneasy feeling (temporarily, I'm sure) going into the season. Here's why: WR's after Moss are question marks. Defensive line performance is a question mark. QB production is a question mark. Clinton Portis' health is a question mark. McIntosh's play is a question mark. Washington's health is a question mark (until I see otherwise). Landry at safety is a question mark. Springs health is a question mark. Smoot's on field production is a question mark. Todd Wade is a question mark. Stupid off-season giving me time to dwell on negative crap!

Re: Scouts Inc WR rankings
I think that our receivers are set to have a break out year.
Here's why: 1. They are no longer learning a new system. 2. The coaches are no longer having to learn what Lloyd and El do best. 3. Lloyd is better suited to the down field throws that we can expect from Campbell more than we could with Brunell. 4. Saunders offense typically lights it up in year 2. 5. see number 4. and add that the previous offenses never needed big name receivers. 6. Chemistry

Speaking of the Redskins being bashed on every sports show in America, I don't know if you guys saw it but on Cold Pizza they said "Well its never too early to look forward to next year. So who do you think will be the overall #1 pick in 2008?? Well to figure that out you have to decide who will have the #1 pick and my choice will have to go with the Washington Redskins drafting the DE out of USC". That just makes me laugh. The worst record in the NFL, yeah right. I cant wait for this season to start. |

Re: Scouts Inc WR rankings
What's a WR to do when you have a QB who can't get you the ball? Brunell who all these experts have been saying has been and is washed up, and rightly so, are now blaming the WR's for lack of production. Couple that with an inexperienced QB in Campbell and that is a recipe for failure in the passing game, let's see how bad they are this season. I saw Lloyd open quite a bit last season and Brunell unable to get the ball downfield to him after he beat his man, and it seemed Randall had a good repore with Campbell, I think we are much better than any of these guy's really know, but that's what you get when someone writes a review based on stats, rather than actually watching to see what kind of circumstanses brought about those type of numbers in the passing game!

I think Campbell will find him a bit more this year and his numbers will look a bit more like they did in San Fran. That said, I still think he's a malcontent and will be a problem for the team at some point this season. The WR talent, and the QB, are both good enough to open up the offense and give Clinton and Ladell the space they need to wreak havoc on the ground.

Re: Scouts Inc WR rankings
I think they might be confusing our WR corps, with our QB. We have good talent at WR, they just haven't been able to show it because of our QB situation last year.
Not that it matters, but we definitely have a better WR corps than just 10 other teams. I would reason that these teams are just as bad, if not worse. They either have no receiver that can compare to Moss, or they only have 1 comparable receiver, and nobody behind him: 1. Cleveland 2. Houston 3. Jax 4. KC 5. Oakland 6. San Diego 7. Tennessee 8. Carolina 9. Chicago 10. Green Bay 11. Minnesota 12. Philadelphia
