4. another big time pass rusher to benefit andre carter on the d-line..

5. boulster overall depth at each position to overcome possible injury situtations..
Williamson straight up sucks, the vikes tried changing the bars on his facemask, got his eyes checked, he's beyond help. The wide open catch he dropped in their last game sums it all up with him. Love his speed though but thats all he's got.

he was still the 7th overall pick...

i think the problem lies with the Vikings... with work on the proper team.. he could be good..

he's still young.. and i think it's worth taking a chance at him.. could he possibly be WORSE than what Brandon Lloyd has been for us? I doubt it.. very hard to do that..

If I'm the Redskins looking at Wr's.. I take a look at Troy Williamson and think about the potential he has.. possibly been bottled up by the Vikings..

He was drafted way too high, he was graded as a late first early second round. He is probably better then lloyd, but i think we should look at anybody before williamson.

Depth in the O-Line

I don't think a big receiver is absolutely necessary cause we do have Mix who I think needs to be resigned because that guy has the potential to be huge.

Someone to step in at SS since I assume they're going to keep Landry at FS

A pass rusher?

I agree about Mix - he has been great on special teams and deserves a chance to show what he can do on offense as a #3 WR, especially in the red zone.

A DE or CB in the first round. I don't think Springs is coming back and Rogers won't be himself (which is a nickel corner) probably until the 09 season. I also think it is time to draft a speed back or receiver--maybe 2nd or 3rd rounder. Seems to me that Portis or Betts cannot break a long one and besides Moss--we have no explosive players on offense. We need to start grooming younger players at these skill positions. I would limit FA acquisitions to one or two: I like DJ Hackett as a big wideout and a veteran CB to replace Springs, maybe Charles Tillman...

i dont know about Betts.. but PORTIS NOT EXPLOSIVE!>!>!?

that's insane he's been our home-run hitter since he came to us.. this year with all the woes he had on the offensive line etc.. he had trouble breaking into the secondary but definitly is explosive..

Except he doesn't hit home runs anymore. His longest run this year was 32 yards. We need a few more 20-40 yard runs out of our #1 back.

Portis only had three 20+ yard runs this year and 0 40+ yard runs. To me that is a measure of explosiveness. Out of the 22 running backs this year who had more than 200 attempts, only three had fewer 20+ runs. (data from NFL.com)

Look, I am not suggesting we get rid of Portis. I love him as our feature back. But IMO he cannot run away from defensive players anymore and doesn't seem to be able to juke DBs once he does get into the secondary.

Round 1: CB Aqib Talib (or Antoine Cason)
Round 2: OG (Roy Scheuning?)
Round 3: OT (Barry Richardson?)

FA: DE Justin Smith, LB Karlos Dansby (though I guess that's a pipe dream now)

or take DE Quentin Groves or Calais Campbell in the 1st round and sing Nnamdi Asomugha. I'm more inclined to draft Talib though

Oline-been saying this since jansen went down game one.

Dline- need a pass rush to help the secondary. Sean Springs totally stunk it up yesterday because of the lack of pass rush exposed his coverage skills.

Like SS said, Springs hurt his leg early in the game. Otherwise, he's been playing quite well this year. I do agree with you in terms of the OL and DL.

Possible. If he hurt his leg and it affected him so much then why in the hell would Gibbs not have some one help him constantly or take him out crazy. Thats just as bad when Romeo hurt his thumb and Wade kept him in the game.
