I have four and have to buy 8 preseason tickets at $65.00 which is $520 which is a wasted because I don't go to those and could not sell them. If I add that to the games I attend at a cost of about the same $520 that gives me around a thousand dollars to spend for tickets without any hassel of selling tickets. You also have other cost and taxes which would bring that figure to around $1,200. So if I wanted to go to two games a year and its just me an the wife I would have $300 per ticket to spend and could get much better seating than section 428. So what do youu guys think?

I feel you brother. I have season tickets, upperlevel (nosebleed), the skins wont let me move any closer to the action unless i buy club level, which is something like $3,800/seat. I ended up buying end zone seats from a friend and im trying to sell off my upperlevel seats while still keeping them in my name, I waited 18yrs on the season ticket waiting list. Im not giving them up now.

I know what you mean by the long wait for the tickets but just keeping them to have them is just not making any sense at this time. I can still pick the games I want to go to and get better seats and still come out cheaper. If you call the Redskins front office after March 31 they should give you some choices for better tickets in the upper level. You need to call and if someone did not renew their tickets and have better seats in the upper level they use to allow current ticket holders to move their seating. You have to call and ask or they will just offer them to the next person on the waiting list.

Re: Not Renewing My Season Tic's

I signed up in 2004 just after Joe Gibbs came back for the season ticket waiting list, I got my letter last fall. I knew I was going to get upper level so I went to a game just to see what my seats would be like...decided not to take the offer...seats are just too damn high and I hate heights...would rather pay $200 for a lower level seat to one game (which would probably be about all I would be able to make it to anyway) on Stub Hub than $1000 for two seats I would probably never use and would then have to deal with the hassle of trying to sell each game.

Is that really true? I have never heard of this before. My uncle handed down Red Sox season tickets to me, and when I left Boston, I handed them down to my brother. He goes to about 15-20 games a year and sells the rest on stub hub...been doing it for years. No one has ever said that he couldn't or they would be revoked. They are his to do with as he pleases.

I'd go through stub hub...if it is true that they could be revoked, so what...you were already thinking of cancelling them anyway.

Yes it does happen to people that sell all of their tickets every year and do not attend the games. Not sure how close it is monitored but I have read about people having their season tickets revoked. I remeber one where the tickets had been in the family for year but they never went to any games so the Skins revoked like 8 season tickets. You can pass the season tickets down to family members but I think you pay like $125 for them to process the name change. Thats one of the reason that you see so many non Reskins fans at the game because allot of people scalp all of their tickets every year.

Re: Not Renewing My Season Tic's

My friend and I stub hubbed our season tix last year. He spoke to the Skins office and they gave him the go ahead. The Skins sanction resale through stub hub and, in fact, advertise it at the games.

I don't think they sanction other ways of resale. It may be one of those where DS says - "If you do it this way it's okay (since I get a cut). If you do it any other way, I'll revoke your tix since I get nothing out of it".

As for those who oppose reselling as it may give opps the ability to take our seats, I say then buy my tix. I buy them and resell them, not for a profit but so that I can hold onto them year to year and get better seats. The Preseason is a bitch but I look forward to being able to take my son to games in our seats. That includes those games that may be prohibitive (Dallas, Philly) in years where there is something at stake.

For the Dallas game this year, tix for seats comprable to mine went for 3x there face value on stub hub. Sorry, it's worth it to me to hold onto them and stub hub them until my financial situation improves.

I think going out to Fed Ex sucks. I go to one pre season game a year and that's it. I'd rather stay home and save the money.

Well it seems as if you go to some games, you are safe, if you decide to sell ALL of them online, then you will have them revoked.

I enjoy going to the games but I can only make about two games a year. We drive down early so getting into the stadium is never a problem. We stay the night a couple of miles away and hang out at the stadium Tail gating for several hours after the game so once again trafic is not an issue.

If I'm correct they can track the ticket sales in stubhub so I would make sure you get permission every year from the ticket office and write down the person you spoke with to be safe.

I live in NJ and have season tickets. I go to about 5 games a year and sell the rest. Depending on the game I usually either lose money or break even after online fees. Contrary to what non ticket holders think the only game you can really make profit on is the Dallas game but it's also the one game you hate to sell. So I would agree you can probably save some money by not having season tickets and buying individual games, but personally I waited over 20 years to get my season tickets and I take pride in being a season ticket holder. It seems a little silly, but when I sit in my seats it means more to me and feels different then if I were in any other seat in there. If you don't get that same feeling when you sit in yours then you should definitely let them go.

Re: Not Renewing My Season Tic's

That's a sticky situation, but it sounds like giving up your seats and scalping/stub hub is your best way to go, especially since you do not live in the DC area.

If you could somehow package the other 6 games and get the value of those 6 + the 2 preseason games, it would be worth it. It's probably a catch-22, since the 2 games you probably go to are the Cowboys and either Giants or Eagles, and those are the games that would fetch the most.

I know what you saying about the feeling you get going to the game as a ticket holder it just feels a little different. Like these are my seats in our house. Its not a thing of affording the tickets but more of is it very practical way to spend my money and the hassell of selling the other tickets at a loss.

Re: Not Renewing My Season Tic's

My Uncle has season tickets for 5 seats in the nosebleed section. Every year he has a guy (the same guy, who is a skins fan) that is willing to purchase those seats from him. He uses the money from selling those seats to purchase 2 better seats off of Stubhub or somewhere. We get great seats every year by selling the less attractive seats.
