Not Renewing My Season Tic's
Well I only got my season tickets last year and I have decided not renew them unless someone can talk me into keeping them. My thinking is that I only go to a few games each year and it would be cheaper and much easier than haviing to sell my other tickets to just buy ones for a few games. I have four and have to buy 8 preseason tickets at $65.00 which is $520 which is a wasted because I don't go to those and could not sell them. If I add that to the games I attend at a cost of about the same $520 that gives me around a thousand dollars to spend for tickets without any hassel of selling tickets. You also have other cost and taxes which would bring that figure to around $1,200. So if I wanted to go to two games a year and its just me an the wife I would have $300 per ticket to spend and could get much better seating than section 428. So what do youu guys think?

Re: Not Renewing My Season Tic's
Thats the problem is selling them at face value is a loss to me. Last year I figured if I added in my cost for taxes and preaseason games (which no one wanted or not willing to pay for) my cost was about $100 per ticket. I sold a few at $100 but I also sold a few for less than face value. I figured that the games I went to cost me around $280 per ticket figuring what I paid for them and what I was able to sell for the season. That allot for upper deck just to say I have season tickets.

Re: Not Renewing My Season Tic's
If you try that on a site like StubHub and the team somehow finds out they'll revoke them from you anyway.

I'd go through stub hub...if it is true that they could be revoked, so what...you were already thinking of cancelling them anyway.

Re: Not Renewing My Season Tic's
I signed up in 2004 just after Joe Gibbs came back for the season ticket waiting list, I got my letter last fall. I knew I was going to get upper level so I went to a game just to see what my seats would be like...decided not to take the offer...seats are just too damn high and I hate heights...would rather pay $200 for a lower level seat to one game (which would probably be about all I would be able to make it to anyway) on Stub Hub than $1000 for two seats I would probably never use and would then have to deal with the hassle of trying to sell each game.

no brainer! Don't buy them. I go to one game a year that is all I need.

Re: Not Renewing My Season Tic's
I wouldn't renew, but that is just me. I was in the same situation where I would go to a couple games a year, but couldn't justify the season tix due to the hassle of selling and the greater overall cost of paying for fees/parking/preseason. I have found that the rowdier (i.e., drunker and more profane) the fans have gotten over the years, and the more expensive tickets/parking/food get, the less I actually enjoy the game.
Frankly, I find I can follow the technical nuances of the actual game much much better on TV, particularly on a big screen HD. If you are studious about each play and what is actually happening on the field, then TV is much better. If you are just about the "emotion" of the stadium atmosphere, then obviously the live experience trumps. |

Re: Not Renewing My Season Tic's
My buddy who has season tickets (aka the reason I can go to about 7 games a year) doesn't think he's going to renew his tickets for many of the same reasons.
His thought is that it will end up being cheaper for him to buy tickets for every regular season game on the internet because he won't have to pay full price for meaningless preseason games or the taxes and fee associated with the seats. He's also mad that he's been told that the only way he can get upgraded parking (he's been in the blue lot for about 6 years now) is if he joins the tailgate club, which he is totally against. I'm mad because this could mean that I won't have the chance to go to nearly as many games as I'd like to but I understand where my friend is coming from.

Re: Not Renewing My Season Tic's
If you're not using them and you're losing $$ sounds like it's not worth the trouble.
