I agree wholeheartedly. The guy like it or not was surrounded by buku talent in a rather shitty conference. Sure they beat the hell out of Ohio State, but lost to the other OSU, which was the only other decent team in their conference. Penn St was a nice win, but the Big Ten is really becoming a weak conference anymore. Nobody wants to freeze their asses off in the Great Lakes region.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

I say that since you know JC is going to ask for more $$$$$$$ and unless he is great next season, Vinny and co and going to say bye bye like Casserly did to Gus. Sure JC is better than Gus, but not by a whole lot, with the exception of his TD/INT ratio.
My thoughts exactly. They need to sure up the lines this year. If JC is a wash this year we have a shot for one of these guys in the next draft. Then he can sit on the bench as Colt eats sacks for two to three years. Either way we play our guys out and the next man steps up. What's up with Leinhert in Arizona anyway? I know that's not how you spell his name but fudge it. I don't think Todd Collins has much of a future in Washington.

I think he signed a 3 year extension before last season. My guess is he'll play at least one more season here, depending on how JC does this year. If JC proves he's worthy of being our QB for the foreseeable future, Collins will probably play out the next two seasons for us.

Yea, i was thinking of a way to say this...if JC's sucks next year (which i hope he continues to improve)...there should be some really good QB talent available. Bradford/McCoy are going to be good, i believe.

Its hard to tell what college QBs will be good and which will be busts. I dont think anybody would have predicted such great success for Ryan, Flacco, & Rothlessberger while most thought Russell & Young would be gamers and they have been flops. IMO teams have to look for pro style QBs that played in pro style offenses in college to help maximize the chance for success.

The problem there is upside. Guys who have played in the pro style offense in college generally tend to be as good as they're going to get once they get into the pros. It's the Jeff Tedford theory. Look at some of the "can't miss" prospects he coached-David Carr, Kyle Boller, Joey Harrington, Akili Smith.

SC insiders are now saying that even Mark's agent (or is it his agent-to-be?) even told him to stay in school... even though there's speculation he could go anywhere from 3-9 in the draft, there is a huge possibility he could drop into the second round after combines.

Heck I post that even before training camp.

I'm not sure if I'd say Young was a flop at this point.

Or JaMarcus Russell for that matter. He's shown flashes despite playing for a laughing stock team.

Sanchez. Pfft!
Well that's just.......a good idea.

Talked to a college scout today who projects him as mid-2nd round pick.
