Re: Colt's Game Performance

I love Colt Brennan. He has some "Favre" in him. I think he is the most exciting signal caller of the 3 by far.

I am not saying he should be our starter but I would love to see him get a series or two with the first team.

I am not disputing this but why don't the coaches give him two series with the first team. If he should be the #3 he would prove it, right?

Everyone got all excited, but I think if you went back and watched the games again you would see a QB who did not get through his progressions and who made some ill advised throws. Some of them (I am especially thinking of that stick throw to the tight end across the middle and managed to go for a reception) were caught and made nice highlights. He got away with some stuff last year, that's all I'm saying. Having not watched the Ravens game yet, I would be very surprised if he actually did not play better and demonstrate a better grasp of the offense.

Bottom line, the hype last year was way overblown and ignored what was actually happening on the film (a nice box score does not a franchise QB make). I suspect the same could be said in reverse after this first game (as you seem to indicate).
SC Fan if I was you I would not wast my time watching that game and just start fresh next week with hopefully a better game. I think I'd scratch my eye's out if I had to sit through that again.

I've no problem with that.

He'll probably get a shot in one of these games to come in earlier, but I don't think it's going to change much.

I think Zorn already knows Collins is his #2 and CB is the #3.

You are probably right and I was very happy with what I saw from Collins. He is a true pro and I think we are lucky to have him.

Colt may not get the first stringers around him but it would be great theatre.

If Collins keeps getting the protection which Colt isn't getting, then yeah, he will be 2nd and Colt will be third. Is it just me or does TC's passes take forever to get to the WR, and just hang up in the air forever. Last I checked, the west coast offense is about quick short passes and quick timing. Not short high lobs.

Whether or not the passes ever make it to the receiver is pretty important too

Yeah that makes sence. If we cut every player who didnt do well last night we wouldnt have a team left.

Are you talking about Collins or Campbell?

I'm sure you would be asking for JC to be cut if he had played like Colt. LOL.

But you are right, a lot of people screwed up last nite, and well hopefully they will learn from their mistakes now where it doesn't count.

I wouldnt expect much from any of our qbs if they were sacked 3 times in a qtr. hard to do well when you are running from your life. Its not like any of our QB's faired much better. TC was solid,JC had some good throws but he also had some misfires -overthrew a wide open wr on the sideline- and CB had a pick. it is what it is, other than RAK and Jarmon the team as a whole stunk it up last night. hopefully its out of their system for the next game.
