Re: Problem w/ Cowboys giant screen.

Why wouldnt they calculate this when they made it? It really doesnt make any sense. What a freaking idiot.

It was actually the first thing I thought when the game started because it seemed too low. But I quickly dismissed the thought because I assumed a billionaire making a huge investment would consider all possible issues, but I guess stupidity does not exclude financially superior.

I thought the EXACT same thing when I first saw it. I bet a lot of people thought of that but we all assumed the same thing.

Re: Problem w/ Cowboys giant screen.

People who put this stadium together have to be complete idiots to not think of something so obvious as this. I expect the NFL to step in immediately because this is absolutely ridiculous. It was really tragic what happened with the practice field, especially when you have a crooked Texas business men running things who like to cut corners with inspections, permits, and things of that nature.
In all honesty, I thought the new c-girls stadiums was actually really nice, especially the field. I dont know how I feel about that $30 standing room only ticket, I would be pissed if I had to stand the entire time and couldnt really see that well. I guess it brings more of a college or bleachers feel to the game, but kinda of cheapens the place...

the nfl is not stupid,I think they would have signed off on this already.
Ticket buyers know theyre buying a standing room only ticket,so if theyre pissed about it they have no one to blame but themselves.

Re: Problem w/ Cowboys giant screen.

Apparently they did a test in which McBriar test punted one day. Now there is intensive research!

Both Titans punters hit it repeatedly in pregame warmups. It appears that hitting the screen will be commonplace, not an isolated event.

They spent $1.2 bil. on a football stadium where you can't really play football. In some ways it is not a true stadium but a cocktail lounge with a huge dance floor. To this embarrassment I say ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

I say that every time a live ball hits the screen, it should be a 15 yard penalty against Dallas. Jerry would remove or raise the damn thing then!

I actually agree with this (of course punters would be aiming for the monstrous screen but that would be fun in and of itself.)

Regardless of the league approval (Jerry does have deep pockets doesn't he ) They should have to do something. Or it will become a 1.2 Billion dollar laughing stock. Why should the kicking team be penalized (either by redoing the kick and thus having to run down again, or hesitating to see if the kick hits it) because the Cowboys couldn't get it right.

Jerry Jones: The scoreboard isn't budging

It didn't take long for a punter to prove Jerry Jones wrong. Titans rookie A.J. Trapasso bounced a ball of the Jerrytron during the third quarter.

If you thought Jerry Jones would react by raising the center-hung structure, well, you thought wrong.

Jerry pointed out that his $1.2 billion stadium was built to league specifications. He wouldn't even entertain the possibility of cranking the electronic monstrosity that holds the 60-yard big screens up a few feet.

You see, before construction could begin, the league had to approve the plans. And at several stages thorughout the construction, the league had to approve the plans. Without that approval, the NFL could not sanction games held in that facilty.

And the league liked the stadium enough to award it the 2011 Super Bowl, even before construction was half complete.

You Dallas fans can spin it any way you want. Bottom line it is a complete failure. Jeff Fischer came out and said it was a problem. I don't think he has an agenda.

I cannot wait until a team is up big in the fourth (hopefully Washington) and the punter decides to see how many times he can hit it in a row. I would buy a Hunter Smith jersey for each member of my family if he did it.

This isn't any different than T.O., Tank Johnson, Pacman, Quincy Carter and all of the other square pegs that Jerry has decided that he can fit in a round hole. I am betting that they will not hold the Super Bowl there until this issue is fixed. You cannot have the league showcase marred by an oversized TV that some stubborn jackass refuses to move.

Owner FAIL:

Jones implied that having the video board in play provided an "entertainment value" and that both teams would have to deal with it. But the owner repeatedly said that the normal trajectory of an NFL punt would not bring the video board into play.
did they demolish Texas stadium already? It would be awesome if the league de-certified that stadium until the problem was resolved! (not saying that will happen, just that it would be awesome)

"Entertainment value" ???? Really Jerrah?

I wonder how "entertaining" it will be for him and Cowboys fans when an opposing team gets great field position at a crucial point in a game because of his low hanging TV. We'll see how he feels then.

What a joke.
