Re: Injuries will create a youth movement opportunity

Pretty sad that it takes injuries to see how bad some players have been. I don't know crap next to these coaches but I knew that Rabach has been trash. Why do I have the feeling that if Casey can go, he will be back at the anchor.

Being a Redskins fan is so effing painful...

Some could say trading for McNabb to win now knowing that you are switching to a 3-4 defense that might take years to make a complete transition to makes no sense, others might say McNabb gives us the best chance to win games.

Same concept with Galloway, sure we'd like to see what we have for the future, especailly with this team being underwhelming this season, but Galloway apparantly gives us the best chance to help the team win now.

Is the last sentence a question? That is the only way I could take it seriously.

He's had 10 games and what has he done? Not much.

I'm definitely not debating the impact Galloway has had, the fact remains he has contributed barely anything at all this season. But he had his best game of the season by far today, helping the team multiple times on third downs and getting us out of tight spots, and it's not like the coaching staff needs another reason to keep him on the field. They've kept him on the field throughout this season even though he hasn't done jack, so why would they bench him now that he finally contributed to the team?

I want to see what Austin/Banks has as much as the next guy, but you can't deny that Galloway has kept his job despite his mediocre play this season, and that probably doesn't stand to change now that he finally had a decent game.

You are right, he had a decent game. I still would like to see either Galloway or Roydell Williams released and Austin promoted.

Let's hope they do the right thing and ride the hot hand with the OL. Rabach, Hicks, and Lich have been together for half a season and the patchwork interior of Lich, W. Monty, and Heyer outperformed them by a mile. LOL
If Fat Andy could swallow his pride for Kolb, let's hope to dear God Shanahan does the same.

Yeah, good luck with that.

No, not much. You could say that about a lot of offensive players this season.

The bottom line is, the coaches are going to play who they think gives the team the best chance to win. They aren't going to sacrifice games just to "see what someone can do". They see that in practice, and once someone consistently steps up and shows they are going to give the team a better chance to win than Galloway/Williams or any other starter, you will see them on the field.

I don't like seeing Roydell or Joey out there either, but I got to believe the coaches are doing what they think is best for the team.

So, what was the injury tally from last night's game? Has that been fleshed out yet, or is it going to take a day or so?

Its a win now league and I have no problem with that. If a team makes the playoffs and gets hot anything can happen just ask the Cards. No matter what happens they are going to dump a lot of over-paid underperformers.

I agree.....This could spell the end for many of this new "over the hill gang" If it takes injuries to make it happen then so be it. This group looks very slow in comparison to the more youthful teams around the league. Even when they're fortunate enough to win a game, they look far less than impressive. Their best work is on display when the opposition plays a game of self-destruct. No better example than yesterday.

Thank god, I thought I was the only person who questioned this! I kept my mouth shut because he was putting up the tackle #s to justify being in the middle.

If you can get the 5th seed instead of the 6th seed, you get to go to <NFC West winner> instead of Green Bay. Even if the Eagles are extending their lead on us to the point where they are putting away the division in November, that 5th seed is out there for the taking with the Saints and the Bucs sitting at three losses each. Both those teams are going to take their share of defeats in the second half.
