Re: NFL Players Train at U. of Miami

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know of a modern day professional athalete who isn't materialistic?[/QUOTE]

I don't care who you are man, if people have kissing you butt your whole life cause you can do something most people can't, and you have gotten preferential treatment your whole life, and girls/woman throw themselves at you at every chance, and then when you turn 21 you get rewarded for all this with MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. . . are you going to keep a straight head?

HELLLLL NOOOO! ha ha ha. Human nature man, just like staring at an accident on I-395 you might complain about rubberneckers but what do you do when you see the tow trucks, the cops and the mess....exactly what everyone else does!

what if your father was super rich, and you lived luxuriously your whole life, you get into the nfl, get lots of money, would you take it for granted? i wouldn't, mainly because it could be gone just like that. it could take one play, and you could have a career ending injury, then boom, it's all gone

HAHA good point, I was driving by a wreck yesterday, cursing the rubberneckers, but wouldn't you know once I got close I was taking a look myself, LOL

Re: NFL Players Train at U. of Miami

By far what concerns me most about this article is the fact that Taylor, who has justified not coming to Redskins Park to work out all along with the pretense that he's working out with his Miami boys, has only been to Miami ONCE for a half-court basketball game. I mean come on, the off-season is long enough that when april rolls around you shouldn't have any excuses for not getting on the ball and working your a$$ off. While I don't condone working out in Miami, it's one thing to avoid your team's voluntary workouts because you feel you get better conditioning at Miami..........and it's a completely different thing to avoid voluntaries because you're sitting on your butt all day playing Madden, complaining that you aren't getting paid enough. Get Real Sean.........and PLEASE grow up.

Well they both retired, but what about David Robinson who has donated over 9 million dollars to fund a private school for disadvantaged kids. And there is the Redskins own Darrell Green and his Life Centers..........

Re: NFL Players Train at U. of Miami

class act: Alonzo Mourning...donated his entire 2005 salary to kidney research

a lot of speculation here regarding taylor...just because Taylor isn't working out at U of M, doesn't mean he isn't working out. i honestly thing people are making a big deal out of nothing. offseason will do that do you.

as was said, if he holds out, then you worry...

Re: NFL Players Train at U. of Miami

Michael Jordan donated his entire 2001 salary to families of victims of the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon

Dikembe Mutombo paid for the entire Congolose national women's basketball team to compete in the most recent summer olympics (jerseys, flights, accomodations, etc.) and he built a $14.5 million hospital.

There are several more examples of goodwill by athletes

As for the topic at hand...I didn't notice any mention of KW II at those Miami sessions...and where is he now?! I guess we should be happy ST is "working out" at U. of Miami and not poppin wheelies
