Re: NFL Players Train at U. of Miami
Redskins running back Clinton Portis has shown up now and then, and defensive back Sean Taylor, who has skipped the team's recent workouts, made one appearance -- and only to play a game of half-court basketball, Miami strength coach Andreu Swasey said. Both are former Hurricanes.
So what the hell are Porits and Taylor doing then??? I was under the impression that Portis was at Redskins park a few times; so is he going back and fourth? WTF is Sean Taylor doing?? Nothing?!? Seriously, he is really becoming a problem to me. I just dont get his way of thinking.

Re: NFL Players Train at U. of Miami
Well, the key word here is "voluntary". He really isn't doing anything wrong by not being at Redskin park. NFL players used to just f around until training camp with no offseason program. I understand that the NFL has changed but the guy has a right to do what he wants. As long as he shows up to camp on time and works his ass off and comes into the season ready to smack fools down, then I'll be ok with it. If he pulls a T.O. and holds out, whines like a bitch by not honoring the contract HE SIGNED and causes a ruckus, then I'll have a problem.

'Green Bay Packers tight end Bubba Franks arrived in a cherry red Hummer. Teammate Javon Walker pulled up in a snow white Escalade. Buffalo Bills running back Willis McGahee drove up in a black BMW with wide silver rims. Washington Redskins wide receiver Santana Moss parked a dark silver Mercedes-Benz with the Florida tag 8-TREY.'
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know of a modern day professional athalete who isn't materialistic? |

I don't care who you are man, if people have kissing you butt your whole life cause you can do something most people can't, and you have gotten preferential treatment your whole life, and girls/woman throw themselves at you at every chance, and then when you turn 21 you get rewarded for all this with MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. . . are you going to keep a straight head? HELLLLL NOOOO! ha ha ha. Human nature man, just like staring at an accident on I-395 you might complain about rubberneckers but what do you do when you see the tow trucks, the cops and the mess....exactly what everyone else does! |

Re: NFL Players Train at U. of Miami
From what I understood - Portis was working out with the team. I don't believe this article suggested that the visits that Portis made to Miami were the only times he had worked out.
Taylor still seems to be the mystery. At least it does seem like Moss WAS working out.

Schneed10- thanks for that. I actually liked Robert Smith. I wish more players would model themselfes after him. I know that a lot of NFL players donate to charities and such but it seems to me that many of them have absolutely no self control when it comes to spending.
