WHo's this from? Bruce Allen?

I think the other reports are more likely to be correct about Bruce Allen's ego. Dude is a straight up liar.

i've been around some very very bad alcoholics . . . there is NO question in my mind that SM has been hitting the sauce very very very heavily . . . AND, multiple sources say it was all SM's decision to bail on the combine . . . and then he kept drinking and could not be here for the start of FA either . . . sorry, but that is on him . . . period . . . only think snyder and allen are guilty of this time is hiring a drunk and expecting it not to be a problem.

Maybe, maybe not. Still no excuse for showing up to your job drunk. Sorry but there's no defending that whatsoever.

I can't believe how poorly the redskins handled this...it's like they never learn.

This looks terrible around the league period

Who said he showed up at his job drunk?

So Scot gets fired and then Kirk decides to sign the franchise tag offer. I'm surprised no one is talking about the timing of all this.

I would not and do not believe anything the redskins say. Snyder and Allen are proven liars. Only a matter of time now until a player or someone else spills the beans on this being a smear job. I hope Scot sues those pieces of shit for every dime they have. Waiting for cousins to go on an be traded so my time with this team is done. I can't support this insanity anymore.

Re: Redskins fire GM Scot McCloughan

Another player, however, characterized McCloughan as frequently drunk but never thought much about it because his behavior and comportment never changed.

The portrait the team official painted Thursday was starkly different — that of an employee whose dependency impaired his ability to function on the job and who failed to respond to multiple attempts at recovery.

“He’s been drunk at work,” the team official said. “He’s been drunk at games.”

Frequently drunk, drunk at work, drunk at games. FFS what are we arguing about here? There's just no defending this behavior. Doesn't matter if it affects his ability to do the job or not, you can't show up to work drunk bottom line, end of story. They probably could have canned him a long time ago.

It's also worth pointing out they fired him for cause. That means they likely have some strong documentation to back it up.

If they don't trade him/offer him a worthy LTD after he signs the tag, Cuz is deuces next season. He'll take less per year with another team than sign a one-year 34 mill tag with this organization.

I wonder who the team official is who's being quoted in this article? I would be willing to bet it's Allen or Cooley. But even one of the players said he was drunk. Not good.

If he was doing all that then yes they did have cause to terminate him. Wonder what got the drinking started to begin with? Friction with Bruce Allen from the get go?

But doesn't this also say something?
