Re: The "I'm Not Freaking Out" Thread
extremely positive... the offense is clicking and will only get better. the defense is stopping the run (the most single most important statistic on D). mental errors and turnovers are things that can be corrected.
i can't believe the sky is falling for some of these fans- it's the first time in a while where we're not totally deficient in one aspect of the game. The last two losses have been dominated by the skins- the most important numbers (scoreboard) haven't gone our way, but how can anybody that watches football NOT see the difference between the team this season and ones from the past decade? Here's some excerpts from chiefs fans after the game: "This Washington team is the toughest group I have seen come in to Arrowhead in a long time. This game should give all of us Chiefs fans some added confidence in what our team can do down the stretch." "The Redskins should go deep into the playoffs if they keep playing like that." "They gave us a run for our money in our house. On a neutral site, they might get us." OK, you don't want their respect? How about these from the broncos' messageboards last weekend: "Washington's offensive line should get a gameball, even though they lost" "Really was surprised how well Washington's d-line stiffled the Broncos!" I have no problem with guys critiquing the team- we're far from perfect and have a long way to go before we're "elite." I also respect the more critical posters we have on the forum who post here week to week. What I do NOT respect are the posters that come around criticizing only after losses- you know who you are. You're the same ones who were calling for Gibbs' head after he benched ramsey. You also disappeared from the board after Brunell started rolling up the wins. And now that we've lossed to two solid football teams consecutively, you've popped back up to call out the coaching staff... only this week, the target is GW- who has been the freakin' man in DC. Again, I'm not talking about the "regulars" who have questioned the brunell move and arrington situation- I'm calling out all the posters who disappeared during the wins and were just itching for a reason to complain about something. Re: The "I'm Not Freaking Out" Thread
No offense to the guys who run Extremeskins, this is certainly not their fault, but their board has become overun with fair weather, casual fans who have nothing valuable to contribute other than comical knee jerk reactions.
I really hope for their sake they can get a handle on things. It's getting really ugly over there. |

I dont even go over there. I have once or twice, but not in a long time. It takes too long to find substance. The fact that they have the authority and audacity to alienate on the "official" site of the skins is beyond me, and infuriates me.

Re: The "I'm Not Freaking Out" Thread
A win next week will make me feel alot better. If were 4-2, 6 games in, I"ll be very happy. Still, the last two weeks we statsitaclly and overlal just dominated games and lost. You cant have that.

Re: The "I'm Not Freaking Out" Thread
you know i would'nt be freaking out if we could get a turnover......and ARRINGTON'S specialty is turnovers ,i expect we will see him in the 49er game... it's to bad cause we could easily be 5--0 right now , and only gonna get better,if brunell can stay healthy, can you believe i'm saying that? we SHOULD HAVE WON THAT GAME DAMMIT!!!I mean god bless it,K.C. WAS OUT PLAYED ON BOTH LINES OF SCRIMMAGE....WE DOMINATED.....and those damn fumbles.. where did that K.C. lineman come from 3 sacks 2 fumbles..2 recovered.... we could use him........

Re: The "I'm Not Freaking Out" Thread
there will always be some concerns, but like u SBF I think when the skins r on their game, they can hang with anyone. I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this on this thread or another recently, but is anyone else surprised/concerned by the lack of complex blitzes by Willaims or blitzes in general? maybe I'm just forgeting them but I really don't remember too many at all this year.

Re: The "I'm Not Freaking Out" Thread
The Redskins are making strides, but to not be concerned when they lose these close games is beyond me. Thats exactly what they did last year. They lost almost all close games. People have been upbeat when we were 3-0 because we were finally winning those close games that we lost last year.. Yea, our offense is improving but how could they not from last year. I am really excited about the efficiancy of the offense moving the ball but we get in the redzone the very first set in the K.C. game but like in the past they lost a fumble and we get no points and K.C. capitalized like Denver did last week. This should be a concern and the reference of the haters is innacurate, they should be called the concerned. It has been tough to be a Redskin fan the last decade or so and I am tired of seeing the same damn things every year. I remain optimistic because I am a TRUE Skins fan but at the same time frustrated with the mental mistakes. Peace.....

Re: The "I'm Not Freaking Out" Thread
Frustrating the past 2 weeks but we're a better team than we were last year, lost 2 nailbitiers where we gave two games away at the 2 toughest places in the league to play.
On defense, we need to get healthy at CB which will allow Williams to get back to blitzing. With Rogers on a bad ankle, Harris just back from injury and the terrible, awful, horrible Ade Jimoh at #3 CB Williams isn't going to dial up the the pressure and risk giving up a big play. Arrington isn't playing, deal with it. No need to bemoan it, just deal with it. Once the CB are healthy, I expect to see the pressure on the QB increase.. On offense, Portis needs to be more patient.. On the screen pass, had he waited for his blocking to develop he could have scored. Same thing on some of the sweeps and counter trey. Up the middle is something the line needs to get stronger on, but if he is more patient those runs will come..

They've reached the top of the mountain with their affiliation with the team, but along with that it's brought a serious influx of idiots. Plus it's a place I've enjoyed going to in the past. And I know they have some good guys running the show over there. There are plenty of reasons why I care about what they do. |

Re: The "I'm Not Freaking Out" Thread
This team is going nowhere if they cant score a TD on the ground. It amazes me that by this point in the season the skins have 0 rushing TDs. CRs stats and yards are nice but its points that matter and he just does not seem to have a nose for the end-zone.

Re: The "I'm Not Freaking Out" Thread
I am more positive after 2 losses than I have been in a long while. We just went against 2 of the better teams in the afc, on the road, and really could have pulled both of them out. We didn't, which is disappointing, but I really feel like this team can come together over the next few weeks.
For the first time in a while this team is starting to get an "identity." - Moss and Cooley are go to guys - Brunnell managing the game, making plays - A real tough defense (w/ out one or two of their starting CB's) We'll get better w/ the takeaways. I'm pretty positive this team can win 10 games. We seem to be building a foundation. |

Re: The "I'm Not Freaking Out" Thread
I am not pleased with a loss either but... looking at the way the Skins play this year compared to last year is a huge improvement. Still need to work on redzone scoring. Maybe a few rushing tds would be nice. But not as frustrated watching the games this year as last that is for sure. Also have to watch the dumb penalties.
