The Skins losing today doesn't surprise me at all. They have been horrible the 2nd half of the season. The offense has been pathetic. The defense has kept us in most of the games, although they could be more dominating. It's on to cheering for the Ravens in the playoffs. Good job, Redskins! Way to miss the playoffs!

You would have thought Zorn would have really go all out since his boss gave him at least another season.
We had a rookie coach and played in one of the most competitive conferences in the league. An 8-8 is better than a losing season, only in here and among the Redskins faithful, we had a hope of playoffs and superbowls.

The Lions managed to lose every single game in a pretty bad conference. And our loathed Cowboys, who were picked to win the Superbowl, with a whole bunch of superstar players, took a big dump at the end. Once again, you can dwell on the 8-8 and bitch about it all offseason long, or you can see this as a year of getting the kinks of a new headcoach out of the way (without having a losing record) and build the team in the offseason.

This team needs to FIX their offense, and unless that doesn't happen (and it shows) we're going to continue to end our seasons in december or be one and done in the playoffs.

HEY ... everyone!!

I have news that will REALLY make you feel better...

You think you are pissed about our season??

The New England Patriots finish 11 - 5 and OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS! (Sitting at home like Skins)

Feel better?

The NFL needs to REALLY look at the playoff selection system.... geesh.

It just pisses my off more... but what can you do? This is our team... 8-8 ... middle of the pack

We need a new O line, a new D line, at least one CB and S, and a new WR or two. We have JC for at least one more year, but I think if he can't turn the corner he will be let go for sure. What does this mean? Means this team is in constant turmoil/rebuilding mode unless someone gets his head out of his ass and comes up with a Concrete Planfor getting the franchise back on track. A General Manager would be just the thing.

Eh, it's the Patriots. For once they don't have lady luck on their side. Sure I'd be pissed if this were the Redskins, but (unlike Bill Simmons) I admit this is a biased opinion.

Dude, I am with you!!!!! The D let down and that does suck, but it has been the D that has been carrying the load for most of the 16 game schedule. I don't think our system needs to be revised somewhat or chucked altogether. Dink n dunk crap negates the speed we have and the cannon JC has. It is like tring to get square pegs into round holes. Just can't see how a team that is basically the same as '07 can be so crappy on offense.

Nice post Ruhskins. Perspective is definitely needed right now.

As someone aluded to earlier, I don't really see this changing next season. Sure, there will be some tinkering around the edges during the offseason, but I don't see anything in this coach and how his core players are responding to him that leads me to believe otherwise.
kinda reminds you of the greg(g)s... my system works, the players just have to execute it blah blah

System doesn't play to our personnel. The best coaches can adapt to their players strengths, or at least in the pros make sure they have the players in place that best suit that system. If Snyder is indeed committed to Zorn, that is fine, but he needs to get a guy to help Zorn get the personnel to fit the system, which unfortunately will take some time. Does Snyder and us here in Skins nation have the patience? I am not so sure.

Re: Redskins vs. 49ers game thread

8-8 for a first year coach is not bad. While I would have liked to see us make a run into January it was not to be this year. Time to go back to the drawing board and start taking care of what we need. I say we start with our lines.

I hear you.. Zorn just knows the system and the QB, not a lot of the other personnel, we'll see.
