<sarcasm> I always appreciate an out of touch journalist trying to throw daggers at my generation and thinly veiling it as "sports journalism." </sarcasm>

Jason Whitlock is a joke.
Quote:
The reason Snyder has not fired his lame-duck coach is because he realizes he played a role in Shanahan's inability to connect with RG III in a way that would've allowed Shanahan to humble Griffin and properly manage him. Snyder realizes Griffin needs to be humbled. Anyone objectively watching the Washington game film realizes Griffin is living in a false reality as a pocket passer. Anyone who witnessed Griffin's Week 1, flag-carrying, drop-to-his-knees, pregame jaunt onto the field realizes Griffin has a lot of work to do as a locker room leader.

He's lost in swagger, a bogus reality fueled by social media and a culture with little regard for humility and self-awareness. There's no guarantee he'll awaken from his fantasy world. But Mike Shanahan will soon clean out his office knowing he shook Griffin as hard as he could.
RG III a victim of his own swagger

Oh, is that why, Jason? Actually, I'm more sure that it's because Snyder probably knows firing him now a. accomplishes nothing and b. doesn't allow you enough to time to mount the evidence to fire him "with cause" so Snyder doesn't have to pay him.

I hope Dan learns a lesson he already knew. Never sign a deal where you can't fire the coach, GM, or whoever. Say look I'm making you the highest paid, can you give me results?

Blaming Snyder was stupid but he hit the nail on the head with this part of the article.

He can fire any of them any time he wants. I'm not so sure MS won't be on the sidelines next year.

We're about three run ins with the law away from having that opportunity. Which we'll pass on.

Wow. Just wow.

Either these two are pathological or just incredible schemers.

Mike: Okay, I am going to hide your dislike of RGIII by taking all the heat. I'll let it leak out that I ... not you ... wanted to leave after last year, that I wanted to sit RGIII in Seattle but didn't, and I'll take the heat by benching him and making it look like it's all my decision.

Kyle: Sounds good Dad ... but how about this too - when you bench Robert, tell them you cleared it w/ Dan.

Mike: Oh ... that's good. Gonna throw Bruce in to, just to make it look like a "team" decision. Hee hee!

Kyle: Nice one.

Mike: Finally, just b/c I love you boy, I want you to toss me under the bus by saying you wanted Bobby to keep playing.

Kyle: Ahhhh, gee Dad, that's really cool of you! Don't you think that's going too far though? No one who knows anything will buy that!

Mike: LOLOLOL ... trust me. The sheeple will eat it up. I may come back and find a way to blame Dan for our "rift" but not quite sure how that would work ...

Kyle: I'll get to work on that Dad.

Mike: That's my boy!!

Kyle: And don't worry dad, I'm gonna pull out the real playbook this week for Cousins. It will be my best coaching performance ever and Cousins will shine. Then we can blame everything on RG3 and ride off into the sunset!

Mike: That's my boy!!

I imagine Thanksgiving dinner went exactly like this. Mike had this planned in advance. How long is anybody's guess. He didn't just show up after that Chiefs game and decide that he could bench RGIII the rest of season to protect his QB. That plan was made in advance.

I find it funny that while everyone is bashing the crap out of MS, and he deserves a lot of heat, the current vets on this team seem to have his back.

As far as Plummer is concerned, his career was in the toilet until MS signed him. MS wants his QB to live at the facility during the off season and Plummer wasn't willing to do that.

They are just trying to stay out of the spotlight.

After he's not their direct supervisor, people will talk.
