Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
Did I miss something? When did Caldwell all of a sudden have all these drops? Seattle had some excellent coverage yesterday and were blanketing our WRs all day.

Yeah. I'm upset with Moss. He's had a horrible year, bad drops at bad times, and when he gave up on that INT -- I was pissed. He Shockey'd it.

I'm pretty sure it's "cue", but I might be wrong.
"Que" of course is Spanish for "What?!"

Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
For the sake of this thread, I'm sure it's "cue." If something is in "queue," that means it's lined up and waiting- like when you are printing multiple tasks on a computer, those waiting to print go into "queue." I think.

Onto the bigger picture, drops were huge all year. I strongly suspect all the dropped passes messed w/ JC's confidence. Some games we saw as many as 7,8, or 9 dropped passes, which easily amounts to over 100 yds of offense. Inexcusable. And nobody can tell me the drops didn't mess w/ TC's confidence yesterday either. Obviously getting smacked around every other play was a big worry but when there's finally a shot to get a first down (especially during that first half) and a perfectly thrown ball bounces off Moss' forearm to yield another 3 and out: that's pretty much gone kill any momentum. |

Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
the only WR that needs to go is lloyd. the other 3 (moss el caldwell) are good. having a stud would be great, but i think this thread was started on a very reactionary note :P
guess how many other teams had franchise QBs go down. (5). how many teams have 2 OL starters on IR? (6). how many of those teams made it to the playoffs? that's right, we were the only one, on both counts. no rest, cross-country playoff match-up with 10 guys on IR (and one dead) after 4 must wins in a row... it's not like we had the world's best chance to begin with, but it was fun to get caught up in how well we were playing and ignore that other teams were pretty good too (and in much better shape to win a wild card matchup). that's life. we're a pretty good team, and our depth was much better this year, but there's still work to do there, and a couple spots that could possibly have major upgrades (LB #3, DE #2, SS, WR #1/#2, another CB for when springs finally leaves or can be effective). and caldwell was cut to give him a better chance at more playing time. he's really a #3/#4 WR, and it's not his fault that NE decided to march him out horribly overmatched for 16+ weeks last year. |

I agree with your post but there are too numerous positions to talk about. This chat room stuff gets old because its too slow. I want to know if anybody likes to talk live or if there is a live chat room with audio about the SKINS. If not, I am thinking about starting a Redskins weekly conference call line where we could get together on the phone in a chat room environment. Anyone else interested except me? |

Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
Hi folks, it's time for Mheisig's Educational Point of the Day:
If you're going to use a word in a post, especially in the title of the thread, a little research before clicking that tempting "Post" button can really pay dividends later on down the line. Specifically, other posters will not be so prone to mock you relentlessly until you flee the forum in a flurry of shame and tears. Case in point: the first question on anyone's mind should be "What the hell is a 'que' and why should we be taking something from it?" To answer your question, let's try a little experiment that any internet user should be familiar with: it's a little tool called "Google." Once you're done giggling at the funny name, let's get down to business: head to Google and in that pretty white search bar, we'll type this: define:que NOW click that tempting "Search" button. Our first clue that "que" might not be the right word is that the definition returns no results in the English language. Now, most people on this particular forum read and write English (though it's debatable that some can read or write at all). So, should we use a word that's not even defined in English? Probably not. Maybe the word we're searching for is "queue" and we just forgot a couple of letters. Once again we run back to the Google search bar (also conveniently located in your browser toolbar in Firefox) and type: define:queue Turns out a "queue" is a stack or line of people or items. So do we want to "Take a stack or line of people or items from the best?" I don't know about you, but that makes about as much sense as Question #3, which is to say it's mostly gibberish. After several hours of brain-bending research, we discover that the word we're actually looking for is "cue." Hoozah! A cue is a hint, stimulus or guiding suggestion. That actually makes sense within the context of the sentence! With our thread title actually coherent, we now have a great foundation for constructing a well reasoned, intellectually provocative post that will really add to the Warpath community. Of course a complete lack of reasoning ability and rational thinking skills can really put a kink in that plan, so there's no real guarantee.

Re: Time To Take A Que From The Best
Let Moss play his contract out and let him go. Too much money for a guy that screwed up too much this year. To be honest do that with the whole lot of them unless we get some consistency from them next season. Can Llyod of course, but will Snyder want to eat his contract? I doubt that. Dropped passes were a big contributor to our not so great record this season. Without dropped passes we could have beat the pack and probably swept Dallas as well as get at least a couple more W's this season. WE could have been easily 12-4 without the lack of execution.
