Re: Chad Johnson up to his old antics...

where talking about practice...practice..man practice...its only practice..don't act like you wouldn't take CJ because of this because you'll be lying to yourself. Its like saying i wouldn't roll in the sack with jessica alba because i'm married..its practice..a voluntary practice

Re: Chad Johnson up to his old antics...

People are always very hard on people like CJ, Randy Moss, and T.O....and yeah they can be jerks at time, but they are talented jerks. Unlike talentless or unproven jerks (like former Redskins Brandon Lloyd for example). People come down on CJ and forget that:

A.) He hasn't had any troubles with the law, unlike a crapload of his team mates
B.) The Bengals are not necessarily a model organization in the NFL

I think the same thing could be said of Randy Moss (playing for a dysfunctional team like the Raiders before he went to NE) and T.O. (who just wanted to get paid, but the Eagles are cheap and didn't want to pay him).

The Bengals should trade him if he doesn't want to play there, and who wouldn't? Would you want to play for a team where half of the team has discipline issues and end up in trouble with the law? And if he is available at the right price, we should get him, because unlike Lloyd, he's a proven receiver that would automatically upgrade our offense and make us a great team.

I agree with that mostly, but I dunno about calling the Eagles cheap they gave Asante Samuel 6 years 57 million.

You are correct, and I actually should have said that they were cheap back then, not now when they spent a ton of money for Samuel.

I've been 100% opposed to trading for Chad since the rumors first began to fly. The guys is 30+, will likely want a new deal, will take one or two high draft picks to get, is selfish, routinely pulls dumb stunts that incur yellow flags, and got into a physical altercation with his coach. Yeah, sounds real enticing. He's not a Pacman Jones, but he's certainly TO-esque.

And don't forget about his argument with Carson Palmer that was captured on national TV -- even though they were arguing about an interception that turned out to be Ocho Stinko's fault because he ran the wrong pattern.

who cares , this has nothing to do with the redskins because we didnt sign him. Players always skip volantary workouts. When they skip mini camps then we can make a big fuse about it.

Chad Johnson is just what we need, a big time WR. I would give up multiple picks for him, he's worth it!

Bengals should trade Chad Johnson ASAP
Unhappy star WR wants out, and his trade value never will be higher

I say let this saga drag out until training camp, by then the Bengals will be begging to get rid of him and we can hopefully get them to accept a lowball offer. Do you think we could get him for a 2nd and 3rd in next years draft? I'd do that in a heartbeat.

Re: Chad Johnson up to his old antics...

This is funny. Everyone is argueing/discussing their point like all of a sudden everyone will agree their oppinion. LOL. Everyone has good points but I doubt we will have any effect on what the Skins do. Would I like to have CJ, yes because we need a tall proven WR and he is that. However could he be a locker room problem, yes. I guess it's a chance some people are willing to take and some aren't.

On Extreme skins someone posted us looking at a RB draft prospect. My first thought was to see what the Bengals needed to see if there was possibly a gentlemans agreement in regards to drafting a RB for them in exchange for CJ. Wouldn't you know it they drafted a RB last yr that tore his ACL last yr and did not play. I wonder if they are worried he will not be back in 100% and are thinking trade. Maybe CJ pays back some of his money like Lavar did and that helps the Bengals eat some of that 8 mill they will lose and get two 1st rounds this yr. Possibly a DE and a RB from us either one we already have or drafting one for them.

Re: Chad Johnson up to his old antics...

Non issue w/ the voluntary offseason program.

I will say though CJ is "going all in" as coach Fassel would say. He wouldn't get nearly the bad pub if he would shut up a little. He's on every program everywhere demanding a trade-saying he's disrespected-not appreciated. Maybe he could have went about it a different way, but hey, too late now. His chips are all in. I can see both sides of it.

I'd handle it a different way though. Maybe talk to your coaches/FO and try to work it out. Worst case...i'd play at Cinci for my weak, measly salarly and do the best i could.

Re: Chad Johnson up to his old antics...

Lavar Arrington.....

Simply put make their life a living hell and they will ask for a trade.

Pacman....

Simply put team trades with Dallas for a pick and player and now they are stuck with the contract.

T.O. ?
S.Moss when he was with the Jets.

I thought the Jets had a lineman who was disgruntaled they traded away for a pick.

Jake Plummer to Tampa which never materialized.

Maybe I'm wrong with some of these but these are ways to get out of a contract. As long as the other team agrees to the contract. I also belive that some players have
RE-NEGOTIATED their contracts to fit what the other team is looking for to facilitate the trade for cap reasons. I thought we have done a couple of these.
