Re: Favre a free agent

Favre is definitely not coming to D.C.

If he goes anywhere it's going to be a team that has similar terminology to what he ran in GB.

Farve would be a good QB coach, we could use one and take that responsiblity away from Zorn so he can concentrate on scoring points with this offense. Zorns main excuse is "he's working with the QB's". Zorn needs to focus on the offense as a whole. I dont think he can.

Dude, you really need to stop with the barrage of posts and think before you write.

I'm just going off memory, and someone fill me in, but wasn't the argreement with the Jets conditional that he NOT go to Minnesota? If he did the Jets would forfeit either more picks, or higher picks? Does this even apply after his release?

Best I know, the agreement was that they would not trade him. Now that he was on their roster, and then retired, and now released, apparently it does not. There was probably some provision that he had to play x number of games as a NYJ or something like that.

Yeah, I think the clause was for the Jets not being able to trade him to Minny.

Re: Favre a free agent

well I guess that wouldn't apply then.
I would like to see what Brett would do if he was in the place he wanted to go. Might be fun. haha

Re: Favre a free agent

The clause was that if the Jets traded Favre to anyone in the NFC North, the Jets would owe the Pack 3 #1 picks.

But, as stated above, he's now free, the Jets are not trading him, so all bets are off on that.

Re: Favre a free agent

If I was Brett I would be having so much fun right now. I would get on a plane and go to Minnesota, maybe sit in on a practice or two. Then maybe catch the red-eye to Miami and eat at the most expensive restaurant that is closest to the practice facility. I would maybe finish up my week in Dallas, hit up Houston, then spend the next entire week in Oakland (can you IMAGINE the hysteria with Al Davis clearly not with it). I would then head back to Mississippi, fine tune my lawn mower, and start fielding offers for my tell-all book deal.

Possibly the most ridiculous thing I've read on the warpath this offseason, and that's saying something. Fav-ruh is the last person you want teaching any young qb. He never played "within" a system his entire career. It was always bombs away as soon as he got bored/was behind. Most of the time it worked out for him, but that's not exactly a skill you can teach...

Don't forget his frequent underhanded passes.
