Re: Can't standup at FedEx?
I live out of town now but when I used to go and when I get the chance to go I am rowdy, loud, and standing. and I don't drink at all! If I want to see every play and move of the game I would watch it at home that is not what being at the stadium is all about

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?
I think that everyone should realize that, absent special circumstances you should expect to stand up before the game, during break, during big offensive plays, and 100% of the time on defense at a football game. Unless the person in the couple of rows behind you is elderly, handicapped, or a child, you don't owe them anything different.
That said, I hope that everyone would agree that if the person behind you is unable to stand, you would respect their needs.

We need to make a redskins shirt that says something on the back to the effect that I will Stand during the game.

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?
it takes all kinds to make this world go 'round...
all I know is I'm the guy who is cheering his head off the entire time, standing when warranted, and giving the fans around me high-fives for the great plays. if you want me to sit down and keep it down, i'll take it into consideration, but remember that I am only one person. No way to keep 92,000 fans in check. I have as much right to enjoy the game my way as you do.

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?
I've sat in the club level a few times and for the most part, the people there don't seem to stand up much at all, regardless of the game situation. I hate sitting there because of the lack of passion, but maybe some people would be more comfortable there.

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?
That's the Cabernet crowd and they can never be counted on. They are almost never in their seats cheering. I've sat in the Club Level a few times and it just makes me angry. The nosebleed seats are more fun, less expensive, and louder.

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?
I drove all the way up from Charlesto, SC on Monday to see the game. I was sitting in Section 131 (with buddy in wheelchair so we were in the accessible seats). The whole game I was being told to sit down when we were on defense. I was screaming and cheering everytime the vikes had the ball because thats what I do when we are on defense. It was very annoying to have some one tell me to sit sown. I sat down when we were on offense but not on defense baby!! I was like I didn't drive 8 hours so somebody could tell me how to cheer for my team. I ended up moving to the end of the row there so I could stand whenever I wanted. HAIL!!!

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?
I honestly think I was sitting for a total of about 5 mintues the entire game. There was a little kid behind me (maybe 3-4) and I was making sure that I didnt disturb him, and ussually I will take into consideration whomever is behind me...but at the same time, its my team, if I'm supposed to be the 12th man, I'm going to do my damnest to try to help our team win...
In all seriousness, rewind to Chicago of last year...we might lose that game if everyones sitting down and not causing three straight false starts...screw that; lets have some fun at the games, especially when we need to pay out the ass for the tix.

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?
The bottom line of how to act is very simple:
Show some fucking respect. This isn't baseball. This is an emotional game. Home field advantage needs to be huge. We need energy from the home crowd. Sitting on your ass doesn't do it. That said, being a drunk fucking asshole doesn't do it either. Fighting in the stands doesn't do it. Making it an unsafe place that is not the kind of environment people can take their kids to doesn't do it. Show some fucking respect. In other words, even if you are a cocksucking Eagles fan with a serious alchohol problem and a long criminal record, show some fucking respect in our house. If you are a wine sipping, uptight lawyer who wants to just quietly sit and watch the game and debate the merits of the latest FCC ruling with your client, show some fucking respect for those who want to bring some serious juice to the game. If you are a true fan, completely jacked for the game and you are surrounded by a bunch of lame wimps wearing sport coats to cover the broom stick they have implanted in their asses, do what you can to make noise, but show some fucking respect.

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?
RiggoRules,
As a fighting, drunk, cocksucking, sportscoat-wearing Eagles fan/lawyer with a serious alcohol problem and a long criminal record who discusses the latest FCC ruling while drinking my wine with a broomstick up my ass, I take issue with your post and find it disrespectful. I think its about time that those of us who have opted to get broomsticks implanted in our asses are taken seriously and given OUR respect. |

Re: Can't standup at FedEx?
i think you have to take into consideration the opposing team when planning to attend a game.
for example.........i took my 9 year old son to the 49ers game last year because i knew there would not be many 49ers fans there and as a result there probably would not be alot of verbal fighting going on around us. i also went to the eagles game last year but purposely did not take my 9 year old because i knew the crowd would be very rowdy. people need to expect rowdiness on opening night, instead of yelling at people to sit down , they should just go with the flow, if everyone around you is standing and yelling then you need to stand and yell.
