Big C I agree with your assessment of Smith but the reason I'm so high on him is his motor and his ability to stuff the run. Chris Wilson showed that he can be a 3rd and long guy and probably ring up 8 sacks in limited action.

They need to give Anthony Mix a good look next year. My girlfriends brother is a Giants fan, and he said Anthony had a great preason, and the Giant where very high on him.

i am a hokie, but to me chris long is one of the sure things in this draft. trading up would take a lot of picks, so id be against that, but he is going to be a great player

Right now, we could improve anything, besides a RB; likely a receiver, or somebody in the secondary.

People.... we lost that game yesterday in the trenches. Football games are won and lost in the trenches! We have to get better in that area. I don't want to hear about WR's and CB's. The O-line needs depth and a youth movement in the worst way. Fabini, Wade and Kendall are just stop gaps. I also didn't see Hassleback under duress for most of the game. Where is our pass rush from the front 4? Your weaknesses really show up in the playoffs and ours did yesterday. Pass rushers and o-linemen should be the number 1 priority.

Does anyone realize that Mix and Calvin Johnson have the sa,e build. I like what I have seen from Mix. Maybe he can be our big reciever. From what I have seen and heard he is very fast.

The difference is one has serious skills and the other one does not.

Definitely agree about the O-line, that's why I think we should spend our 2nd, 3rd, and possibly 5th round picks on linemen. I'm not convinced there is an offensive guard or tackle available around where we draft in the first round. Heyer got abused yesterday but it's part of the maturation process. Overall, I think we've found a real gem in him. I also think we might have another diamond in the rough in Lorenzo Alexander if we commit fully to making him an offensive lineman.

Defensively, I probably haven't mentioned this on this site before but I think Justin Smith would be a great pickup If we go the draft route to get a DE, then that's where I think you spend your first round pick. I think Carter has more than proven himself at the other end and Wilson has emerged as a good 3rd down pass rusher. One guy who had an underrated year this past season was DeMetric Evans when they lined him up on the inside.

Justin Smith?? He's a solid player on a bad defense. But why would Cinn. let him walk when he's probably their best defensive player? We need a dominate guy with a high motor on our front 7. I just don't see that in Smith. We gotta draft a guy. Someone like a Ware or Merriman. Someone that just creates havoc.

I'm not sure if he's big enough to be a 4-3 end. I think he's only 260lbs. He looks like he fits in well as an outside backer in a 3-4. But I'm sure he still has alot of growing to do. I remember he just abused Ohio State last year so I'm sold on him. Plus he's a local DC guy. It would be a great fit. But I think I'd rather have Chris Long. Long is just like his father. Mean, nasty and he brings an attitude.

Re: What Changes Should We Make Going Into 08?

I know the need for a LB has been mentioned by a few of you, but I am surprised its not higher at the top of the list. Fletcher is set, but Mcintosh is a ? and I don't see Washington having too many more years left in the tank. I would like to add a LB with one of our first 3 draft picks. Lets fix this problem now.
