Yeah, he's always kind of had the "money is no object" approach. I wonder if it bothers him that Six Flags is trading at $1.78/share. Eeesh.

I wonder what the reaction would have been here had this happened last year after Williams' (and the defense's) dismal 2006 season

....and I wonder what would happen if a solar flare hit the earth and burned all of life on earth. I mean cmon dude the guy is a damn good coach. If fans were pissed after 2006 for him having one bad year compared to his level of work as a coordinator in Tennessee, Buffalo, and Washington then they werent very knowledgeable fans. People love to knock Gregg Williams but at least he coached the team and called plays on defense. Last time I checked Joe Gibbs was a HOF head coach and gave up his playcalling duties after the 2005 season. When that happened I wondered why he was even still coaching because he was basically a figurehead. Yet everyone backed him even me because we knew he was a winner and he does what is best for the team. Thats the reason why Gregg Williams was here for those 4 years because Gibbs knew Gregg Williams is a damn good defensive coordinator. Too bad Dan Snyder dont realize how good of a coach Gregg is.

Since you weren't here at this time last year and apparently not aware of how many here wanted to get rid of Williams I don't expect you to be able to give any reasoned answer.

Well since you would not realize maybe im a member of other redskin message boards and not just this one and also know quite a few skins fans here in virginia beach maybe I know about last season in other peoples point of view. I know what some people have said and during a game I was upset at times in 2006 also. That said if anyone wanted Gregg Williams fired they might of not understood what Gregg Williams brought to the Washington Redskins.

Sorry to see Williams go......For Danny's sake I hope he is making the right moves. He may be the most hated man in Washington DC if this all gose south. He may be booed right out of the stadium come this fall!!!!!

Really hate to see Gregg go. I hate to see Saunders go as well. If you think you've seen it all just wait. You'll probably see some of the players rolling out the doors of Redskins Park. We made the playoffs and everyone is gone. When will Cerrato's gravy train run out? Why hasn't it already? I wish the Williams and Saunders families the best and thank all of them for giving it a shot with Gibbs and us Redskins.

Blache taking over wouldn't be too surprising, though I think he'd prefer not to stay. Not for any reason other than he's "getting too old for this shit" I think Jerry Gray and Danny Smith are likely to try to follow Williams out the door.

Vinny was actually on Comcast and said that the reason they went ahead and fired him yesterday was because they wanted to give him a chance to catch on someplace. I hate it when people just say to hell with it and tell a big fat lie. Next time just get in you car and drive home, Vinny.

Re: Gregg Williams Is Gone

As I predicted, the 4 interviews for GW were not because they were working out staffing issues but rather because Danny was trying to get past the fact that his gut told him GW was not the right guy for the job.

I guess everyone will have to wait until after the big game to find out who the next HC will be.

I think that is a pipe dream.. to think he can blow up this team and then make it into the playoffs again, but hey, I'll eat crow if we do...

Re: Gregg Williams Is Gone

Everyone is bashing Snyder but it was Gibbs who quit on us with one more year on his contract. I think he made the decision because of his family and probably the best decision for him but he did have another year on his deal. Also everyone seems to hate Fossell and says that he is a crappy head coach. Well he has a winning record and williams record is no where close to his as a HC. Instead of bashing Snyder before we know what the results will be lets wait until the team takes the field and we can actually see the results. Lets face it this team has struggled under Gibbs and if it was not for 2 winning streaks this team would have benn a total failure. While I agree that they did have those winning streaks I also think they made this team look better than we really were.

Re: Gregg Williams Is Gone

Im not gonna bash snyder yet...hire Fassel and I will be the first to start the bashing. Its ridiculous how all of this has panned out. Im not saying GW is or was the best man for the job i just hate to see all of this so called continuity get tossed out the window like yesterdays trash. And not to mention tossing the 700 page playbook out the window. There is a bit of a learning curve involved with Saunders' offense and I think the redskins braintrust gave up on it too soon. It appears as though the phrase "blow it up" is starting to fit.
