PEFORMANCE PER ATTEMPT – A 300-yard passing game in 30 pass attempts, is that not similar to a 200-yard passing game in 20 attempts?…or more to the point a 400-yard game in 40 attempts? It's all still 10 yards per pass attempt? For that matter 2 passing TDs in 20 Pass Attempts is the essentially the same performance as 3 passing TDs in 30 Pass Attempts. Colt Brennan and Graham Harrell should not have an advantage over Tom Brady because they throw 40+ times a game and compile bigger stats. We look at Passing yards, Passing TDs and INTs through the lens of the number of completions and attempts...not game compilations. Quality, not quantity.

If you look at their stats they are almost identical to when Brady was in college, let me list off some of their similarities:

- Both played in the Big Ten
- Both have almost identical winning records
- Both led their teams to major bowl wins and were named MVP
- Both have the same knock on them coming out of college to the pros; "Good arm, highly accurate, highly intelligent, frail framed, winning QB's"
- Both are 6'4, 210-ish lb's
- Both have alright, but not highly touted NFL, receivers to throw to in college
- (Even though Stanzi still has a few more games to play) their touchdown to interception ratio is almost identical.
- they both take what the defense gives them.
- they both played in NFL systems in college
- they both are graded in the later rounds of getting drafted
- they both kind of look alike


Now is Ricky going to be exactly like Tom Brady? No most likely not, but theres definitely a good chance that he ends up being almost as good, and he's definitely worth a draft pick in the 2nd round range IMO.

And being that Shanahan right now isn't too satisfied with McNabb we may take a chance on a guy like this in the draft, especially if we're looking at all these other college QB's right now (Locker,Luck). The one thing Stanzi is which Brady isn't; More mobile, he runs a 4.8 forty.

Was listening to the First Draft Podcast with Kiper and McShay today in part because I was tired of hearing nothing but "2 Live Stu's (aka the guys that double team Bayless on First Take)" and college basketball. Seems like more and more people are getting high on this Stanzi kid. McShay was saying that some teams will seriously want him as a backup because they can count on him to prepare and not take away reps from the starter during practice. Others like him long term as a possible starter, maybe even a guy that can break through and be the best QB from the class.

I obviously don't think he's Tom Brady but apparently he's tempting some teams to use a 2nd round pick on him as of late. Biggest issue is apparently the fact that he needs a lot of time to get the ball deep compared to other QB's.
