Re: Roger Goodell says NFL considering eliminating extra point
I've yet to hear a legit compelling argument in favor of the PAT.
Probably a good indication why it's likely to change sooner rather than later. |

Re: Roger Goodell says NFL considering eliminating extra point
How about making every touchdown worth 7, and a 2 point conversion becomes a one point conversion.
Or make everything worth 6 and teams can only go for 2. Extra Points are just dumb. |

Re: Roger Goodell says NFL considering eliminating extra point
Problem is his changes have had negative impacts on the game, from a fans perspective and for players playing defense. I don't remember Rozelle or Tagliabue having such negativity during their runs. But I like some of the new proposals that are on the table w/ the PAT.

If they worked in a time where the long term effects of concussions became public and the NFL was constantly being sued by ex players for not being honest about the risks, they would be doing the same thing in order to make the NFL marketable. |

Re: Roger Goodell says NFL considering eliminating extra point
If the league is going to eliminate the PAT then I'd prefer to see them do it completely. No longer kicks or plays. Make TDs worth 7 points and give the other team the ball and keep the game moving.

![]() And the point of the NFL is to entertain fans, but when you do away with an integral part of the game so the fans are more entertained, then you're sacrificing the great game of football for mere entertainment. I don't think any part of the game should be changed so the fans enjoy it more. It's lasted for many years, so why change it now? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. |

Re: Roger Goodell says NFL considering eliminating extra point
That would make the game less exciting by 2% right? And less dynamic? Im confused. Goodell is looking to make the game more dynamic and exciting, why do the opposite?

Re: Roger Goodell says NFL considering eliminating extra point
Adding a more impactful plays to the game on extra scoring attempts rather than a 98% gimme point for a more exciting game isnt compelling? I think Goodell makes a pretty layman arguement

Re: Roger Goodell says NFL considering eliminating extra point
If saying a play that fails 1% of the time couldn't be improved upon isn't good enough for you there's not much else to say.

Re: Roger Goodell says NFL considering eliminating extra point
I dont see any of this making the game more or less dynamic, the game is fine as it is.
All this talk is a solution looking for a problem. |
