Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday

What is the last point at which the team loses the chance to trade either one? I'm asking cause I'd definitely hold out till atleast that point or close to it. Again the other thought is will the WHOLE coaching staff be back or will there be some changes made? Will MS stick with the Spread Option scheme or is he done with it and wants to run his scheme he had in Denver? What will DS want to do scheme wise?< I know the HC should get to decide but if DS is set on the Spread Option then I could see MS fired if MS does not want to use that anymore. If DS is wanting MS to use the scheme he thought he was bringing in from Denver then the Spread Option is out. What I see it boiling down to is what's more important to DS? 1- RG3 = Spread/Read Option (could mean Briles brought in) 2- MS WCO = Cousins (unless RG3 makes a huge learning curve) 3- Spread/Read Option = Briles = RG3. These are just my thoughts. But MS is fighting for his job now. If he's not fired. If it was me... I'd ditch the college stuff and go with what made me a good coach in the past, use Cousins for these last 3 games as he did, point out to the owner and Allen at the end all the differences between the two QB's and lobby for keeping me my final year with whichever is the best QB next Sept. and because of that.... RG3 might find himself on the trading block if he didn't make a huge leap this off season. Also as an owner I'd have to look at RG3's dad and if he is stiring the pot. If he is then RG3 might be gone just based off that. |

All this drama has got some of you hook line and sinker.
All this reminds me of a bad breakup and both sides are trying to make the other look as bad as possible. When in reality it's more smoke than substance. |

HELLO.... he's had two starts. Grossman came to us with several years under his belt as well as Beck. LOL. I'll just be happy if the team keeps both young guns, ditches Grossman, and drafts another young QB in the mid to late rounds to sit on the practice squad for development and to learn the scheme. That way if, and it's a big if, MS stays and rights the ship and we are back in the play offs next year, whatever they do with them meaning trading one and resigning the other we would still have another young guy ready to be back up. |

maybe keep the other kind of smoke for the rest of the guys ![]() I'm just tired of hearing all the "We gotta trade Cousins" banter. I think we need to keep both for now. |

Didn't you know? All you need is 2 full games to realize Cousins is LEGIT.

The "trade RGIII" topic came up on the Galdi, Czaban, Cooley radio show yesterday (ESPN 980). First legitimate public forum where I heard the possibility discussed. They pointed out that many of the sacks taken by RGIII were on him because he runs around trying to improvise rather than trying to buy time in the pocket. In that case (their words, not mine), the OL has no clue as to how or where to block rushers. As you might imagine, Cooley had the most insight on this point. Anyway, it really makes sense to me that part of what Shanahan is doing involves proving to Snyder that much of what has happened to Redskins this season is on Griffin rather than the OL. Next few weeks will be interesting! #BeatDallas #HTTR

Cousins looke d like Rex actually. Couusins did okay, didn't burn the house down. Rex has some alright games, but he alwyas gets 2 interceptions in there and loses.

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday
On ESPN980 today, Schefter confirmed that RGII is campaigning to have Snyder hire Briles. Schefter also said RGII is on the sidelines during alot of games. Why the frack Shanahan allows that is beyond me.
Interestingly, Schefter said that Shanahan wants to sit down with Snyder after the season and express his desire to stay, but only if he has has the power "to start the best players." Shanahan's contract already gives him that power, and Schefter said, to his knowledge, Snyder has never tried to meddle or tell Shanahan who to play. Schefter strongly insinuated that, if he were to stay, Shanahan would have a QB competition. If RGIII won, he'd be the starter. If Cousins won, he'd be the starter. Schefter also indicated that, had Cousins not suffered an injury in the preseason, Shanahan would have started him week 1, since he was more prepared than RGIII, who had missed the offseason. Although RGIII was medically cleared to play, Shanahan had doubts that he was "football ready." Now we all know that Schefter gets his info directly from Shanahan, and Shanahan wouldnt tell Schefter these things unless he wanted Schefter to report them. Seems pretty obvious to me that Shanahan believes in Cousins more than he believes in RGIII. Ultimately, it seems, whether Shanahan stays or goes will depend on whether or not he beleives more in Shanahan as a coach with Cousins as his QB or an entirely new offensive staff with RGIII at QB. Personally, I think a Shanahan/Cousins combo gives us a much better chance to win than a RGIII/Briles/Gruden/whoever combo.
