no way winston is a major project. At the begining of the year he was rated to be a top five pick. You dont go from being a possible top five to, to a major prospect. Miami O-Line was not good last year, and gave up sacks so he didnt get the publicity, but he was a great starter.

Erics huge, and can push peopel around, hes all muscle. He'll be a steal where he went.

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

we should trade up to the 4th round and get Orien Harris to play with C. Griff next year. Harris was another guy that was a top prospect that had a disappointing year. Adding him to our line would give Griffin more freedom, as well as our next end. Hes a steal in the 4th round, considering he was also rated one of the top DTs going into last season

leon washington was the #1 RB going into the season, now he's a 4th round pick... preseason ratings aren't all that useful.

Be careful what you ask for. We may not have a draft pick next year.

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

we all know that we arent goign to have our 4th/5th round pick next year anyways. I'll be happy having atleast two picks in the first 3 rounds, lol.

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

I'd like to see Penn State's Anwar Phillips to fall to us. He'd make an awsome nickle back for us.

There is some decent value out there. Some good DT's and some decent OT's. We should to be able to adds some depth at this pick!

What does anyone know about Marcus Maxey from the U? He is a big CB (6'1", 198) with a decent 40 time (4.52).

If he's from the U we'll probably take him.

what I got says he is good on special teams, ideal size, good athletic ability, needs experience, doesn't support the run well and will have troubble keeping up with faster WRs.

Sounds pretty good for this point in the draft.

don,t jump all over this , just think it out .
Take Marcus Vick in the 153 pick , this guy can play any position. he could be another RandleEl . Can you imagine trying to defend RandleEl and Marcus going out on screen to opposite sides of the field. He could be our future number two Quarterback .And this guy is tough enough to play Corner, a very versatile player. Sure he has his off field problems, but under Joe he'll be controllable.

I don't think he fits Gibb's profile.

If you have to start your statement with "don't jump all over this"....

I could see taking a chance on him with our last pick (4th from last in the draft), but thats about it. We have a solid team, and using our picks now to get DB's and OL's is seriously helpful toward our Superbowl goals.

If he's still available? Pull the trigger.
