Re: Is Jason Campbell Accountable for this Loss?

I want to compare JC to another Skins Qback, Mark Rypien.

I remember one season Ryp fumbled 8 times in a few games. Gibbs sat him down for a while.

Next year he wins the Super Bowl.

This was JC's 17th start. Rome wasn't built in a day, and outside Big Ben, very few QB's turn into super bowl MVP's in a year.

Is there stuff he can learn from? Sure. But... Moss and Portis fumbling concerns me a lot more. Moss has done this twice now in big games for us this year.

Portis did it twice today.

And don't get me started on Samuels not blocking his man that swattede the ball from JC on his blindside.

JC need to improve on his long pass accuracy and his received selection a bit.

He will be a better QB next year than this year.

Get him a healthy line, and it will be playoffs next year.

IMHO

I am a novice, but I was wondering when somebody was going to mention, the dropped passes. The Cowboys game in my opinion was theirs for the taking, except for the drop passes. I love Campbell. We need WR and passionate players!

Definately a problem, every game, and usually by santana, or randle el, or portis, the guys we should be relying on to get us the wins.

Yup. If the season were to end today, the most memorable image of Santana Moss this season would be the bomb Campbell threw to him in Green Bay that HIT HIM IN HIS DAMN FACE MASK at Green Bay's 10 yard line. It was, of course, shortly thereafter that Moss took himself out of the game. Yeah, a real pro. It's amazing Campbell is actually making progress considering the cast surrounding him.

Well said (except for singling out Heyer--he deserves a break almost as much as Jason does).

Cant blame Cambell. Ok it was poor decisions but if Moss and Portis hadnt muffed it right off the bat JC wouldnt have had another comeback on his mind.

Whether JC is to blame or not, I hope he stops fumbling practically every game (3 v. New England).

Such highs and lows watching him. Great poise, hell of a long ball, doesnt bounce around all nervous like P. Manning, but he fumbles too much.

Cant have cake and eat it I guess but hell ,hes young. Im sure he will improve.

our three key offensive players hindered us more than any other players today...

3 turnovers for the 'canes and 3 for the qb.

There are some Campbell's fault, but he will learn from that. I'm not feeling really bad today for the lost becuase Giants and Cardinals lose the game too. We still got a change.

When it came down to the end it was campbell's fault but he did put us in the position to win the game despite the previous 5 turn overs. How much is my life being shortened by being a Redskins fan?

Re: Is Jason Campbell Accountable for this Loss?

Campbell deserves blame for throwing a bad pass with a chance to score and win the game. It was a dumb pass from a promising player who is only going to get better, a player who has been at times electric this season with a hobbled line, inconsistent running game, and goofy receiving core.

This is a flawed team, mediocre in a mediocre conference. Maybe Brady and Manning could make them elite, but nobody else. You can blame Campbell for a terrible decision late in the game, but don't start prognosticating about his career. Bank on this, Campbell is going to do great things in his career, in spite of what you bumbling imbeciles on here might write after a painful loss.

Most of what you said is right!!! He had a few bad plays this week and last. That is the growing pains of a NFL QB. As for the vets on this team many have shown very little. Portis putting the ball on the ground as did Moss! These are the vets that should lead the way not kill us week end and week out!!!! Funny thing is this one didn't hurt that bad because I have become use to this and knowning it's come!!! Face it this is a so so team that needs many things with a cap problem in 08 and more needs then the draft picks we have! It's going to take something we don't have in the FO to right this ship!!!
