Re: Eagles v. Redskins Monday Night Football Thread
I didn't see where Reid ran anything up, he's not that kind of guy. They dialed it down in the 2nd half, outside of the pick 6 the majority of the damage was done in the first half.
It's not like they were going for it on 4th down while in FG range - Belichick style |

Re: Eagles v. Redskins Monday Night Football Thread
Anything within the first 3 quarters is fair game. I have no issue with the way the Eagles conducted themselves.

Re: Eagles v. Redskins Monday Night Football Thread
If anything, Reid should've gotten Vick out of there to protect him, but I don't think they ran it up per se.

A little pre-game trash talk... like that never happens. Who cares. The spitting stuff does sound like BS too.

LOL! The Eagles offense scored 52 points. They were still passing the ball after being ahead by 30+ points in the second half. Reid specifically said at halftime that his plans for the second half was "to score more points." So yes, Reid was running up the score. But, as I said before, I'm not blaming him for doing so, I would have done the same thing if I were in that position. Point is, Reid wanted to send a message to the rest of the league that the Eagles are the team to beat and they started their run to the Super Bowl last night as far as I'm concerned. Despite the Redskins' record, not many teams can score points like that against this team.

Re: Eagles v. Redskins Monday Night Football Thread
They didn't run the score up. It probably could have been 80 points?
DON'T like it??? STOP it! We could not get it done and definately deserve to have noses rubbed in it. It literally makes me ill to have had this happen, but I CANNOT imagine a more powerful call to action or motivator than to be held up to ridicule as we are experiencing. If it does not serve to motivate this team...they have no heart and like the...boys...deserve what they get. HTTR

I'm not saying Reid was trying to be a bad sportsman in this at all, although his players tone in the article that has just been posted may not support that idea. I'm saying Reid felt compelled to run the score up since the Redskins' offense was catching fire and had it not been for the Eagles being lucky enough to recover a couple of fumbles, the Redskins could have very well came back to make it a good game. So, the long and short of it is, yes, Reid was trying to run the score up and probably would have scored 70 points if he felt the Redskins had time to come back.

Side note. I work with a huge Eagles fan. Luckily, he isn't one of those obnoxious Eagles fans that you want to punch out. He was very gracious with his trash talking this morning. I've already had several people to ask me how is it that I can actually show my face today. Of course they were all Dallas fans and I reminded them of being 2-7.
