Re: LaVar Arrington In Motorcycle Accident
It's sad that his career has fizzled out the way it has due to injury. I guess we'll never know what he could have become.

Re: LaVar Arrington In Motorcycle Accident

Re: LaVar Arrington In Motorcycle Accident
I agree that its sad LA's career has fizzled due to injury. I do however think we know exactly what he could have become because he was in the league long enough to become it. LA was a good LB that never lived up to his potential.

Re: LaVar Arrington In Motorcycle Accident
Probably, but then again the expectations he was tagged with coming out of college were pretty ridiculous and that wasn't his fault.

Re: LaVar Arrington In Motorcycle Accident
I agree, he was really hyped up and that's totally out of his control but he did have monster talent that I dont think he maximized. IMO his talent was so huge that he could always overcome mental mistakes or sort of ignore coaching (not really ignore but I cant think of the word I want) with this talent but in the NFL the talent gap is so thin he couldnt get away with that anymore.

Re: LaVar Arrington In Motorcycle Accident
He was a freelancer who probably didn't apply himself as much as he could have in the film room. You're right, his physical talents allowed him to do that. I think that's what led to his clashes with the Redskins' coaching staff. GW tried to reel him in a bit and he obviously didn't respond very well to it.
Oh well, it's over now. I wish him well, he was and probably always will be a fan favorite, but you can't help but wonder what he could have been. |

Re: LaVar Arrington In Motorcycle Accident
I wish nothing but the best and a speedy recovery for LA. However, I really hope that's a joke.........? If not your better off living in that fantasy land.

Re: LaVar Arrington In Motorcycle Accident
I keep reading how people want to say he was stupid for riding a motorcycle. just because you think its stupid doesn't make it a fact, and because I dont doesn't make it a fact either. He wasn't under contract with any team, apparently was thinking of retiring, and accidents happen. Walking, running, riding a freaking mountain bike, anything can happen. I dont hear any news saying he was driving like an idiot, he wasn't drinking he just lost control. I think we are all getting away from the main point here, which is the well being of a former Redskin. I hope he heals up, luckily he didn't break his leg as was reported and maybe he can play football again. He is only 28, a year off, rehab like crazy, rest his knees and body and who knows what could happen. These guys are football players until the day they die, and if at all possible they will do anything and everything they can to suit it up one more year.
of course in my eyes, he is still a Redskin and I believe in his eyes as well. He was a Redskin park last week hanging out with his OLD teammates. |

Re: LaVar Arrington In Motorcycle Accident
OK so he wasnt the brightest light on the tree, but he was still one hell of a LB when he wasnt hurt. People said he freelanced, but look at the plays he made. I would hate to imagine what the skins D would have looked like without him. While I don't want us to resign him I hope that he makes a full recovery. If he does happen to get picked up by someone else I hope he returns to form.
With all of that said yes, it was stupid for him to ride under the conditions that he was, but everyone makes mistakes. |
