Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

The only thing I don't like that kirk has said is when asked if he wants to be back his response Is always the same "that's not up to me" reminds me of KD leaving okc, he never was truly committed.. I guess we'll find out soon if kirk wants to be here.

I think you're delusional for seeing things that aren't there, and you don't see to understand that yes, hypotheticals never happened. That's why they are hypotheticals.

I just don't think you're starting on the same level of understanding.

I don't you'll ever get there with the "no comment" argument.

But let me help you out with the hypotheticals comment I made- you like to do things like bring up and discuss hypotheticals. My point is - there is no point. What's the point?!? - it didn't happen.

Thus my comment of being delusional. The what-if-this-happened scenarios are fantasy.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

I think feeling like resigning Cousins or letting him go and using the 20-25 million on other positions are both valid arguments. So people can civilly disagree. You can make points on both sides.

My position is if you get him for 20 million or less you resign him, if not franchise him and let him walk after next year if he still won't sign for 20 million or less (unless he improves then possibly the money can go up).

I'd start working on a backup plan for 2018 now. I wonder how much Nate Sudfeld can improve in 1 year. If he doesn't improve, we might see another mid round pick spent on a qb.

My solution is - sign Cousins to a long term deal with the possible option of trading him. This buys time indefinitely to actively find another QB or to see if Cousins gets to the next level.

Either way, it's a win-win for the Redskins and also for Cousins.

If he has some choking games again next year and is getting towards 30 years old, would we be able to find a team that would want to trade for him if his salary is say 24 million? That's the only thing I'd worry about in this scenario.

He's a good starting QB at the very least. And has more than enough years left. Proven good starting QB are hard to find.

It's likely that he retains his trade value in the future. You're right it's still a risk, but less risky than just letting him go without another proven option at qb and also possibly no compensation for him.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

What a load of shit...trying to make it sound like he's some sort of martyr for holding out for every last penny. So Brady has set quarterbacks back to the stone ages apparently. Maybe try showing future quarterbacks that you don't need to bleed every last penny out of your franchise, and actually help the team sign other guys...

“[T]here’s other quarterbacks that come after you and it would be almost a selfish move to hurt future quarterbacks who get in a position to have a contract,” Cousins told 106.7 The Fan in D.C. on Monday. “And if you don’t take a deal that’s fair to you, then you’re also taking a deal that’s not fair to them and you’re setting them back as well. So there’s different reasons. You just do the best you can.”

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

He shouldn't take anything less than his fair market value. That's all he's saying. Why is that such a crime?

Again, I don't see the problem. But if it's something that gets your drama queen panties in a bunch, well then enjoy.

... problem is it comes off as BS. Never heard this from him before. So he's doing it for the greater good of all QBs. Yeah rite.
