But it seems as though it will be Lewis anyway, no surprise. I'm curious as to what Zorn will do now. They want him to be more of a "head coach" and work with the QB they say. But at this point, what work is there to do with the QB? I mean you just benched him, although he should start next week, and you've been working with him for well over a year now. Often, it seems, at the expense of other areas of the team. Unless working with the QB means Colt Brennan/Andre Woodson? As for being more of a "head coach" I suspect that means making key decisions such as "punt or go for it on 4th down", but do we trust Zorn to make those decisions? I don't know

I of course want us to win next week, but it's probably just time to put Zorn out of his complete misery.
I don't know.. like I started the other thread about a week and a half or so ago, it's hard to see what his role even is other than helping come up with the gameplan. I was looking more for insight, I didn't really follow his previous work so I didn't know if there were flaws in it or what, I don't think he even called the plays in Tenn did he?

As far as the work with the QBs, if it was about Colt or Woodson I'd think that almost implies he'll be here a bit longer than expected, but I guess those guys have to develop whether Zorn is here next year or not. Imagine if they interviewed guys, nobody wanted it, and they tried to stick with Zorn?

What do you want an old guy to do? Go wrestle alligators, build an NFL Mt. Rushmore, or what?

Let's hope that Snyder sees it that way. I certainly do.

Kind of surprising but JZ appears to still have the locker room as I have seen numerous players step up for him lately.....Good to see

Maybe they're so apathetic that they just prefer to have an easier going coach, who knows.

Re: Zorn to stop calling plays

sometimes it seems that we're late getting calls in, this adds an extra step into it, with the relay

According to Mort on Twitter: mortreport But Sherm Lewis was a long-time NFL asst. Steve Mariucci recommended him to Redskins as a "consultant" they worked together in Detroit.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Seriously. Not like Vinny/Danny care about professionalism, but this is a joke. They systematically "hired" Zorn (from OC to HC after a few days), and now they're systematically firing him. It's so shitty. Everyone, I mean EVERYONE, including Zorn, knows damn well he's gone. Why keep him around? It it a charade involving money and contract buyouts? Just get him outta there. What a shit show.

I would ask if the late calls were because Zorn was thinking up the best play for the exact situation, ie the timeout when he was waiting for the ball to spotted. If that is the case, perhaps a person with a little more anticipation could make a huge difference, even with the relay through Zorn. I think other teams do it this way, but I am really not sure.

Yeah there are other teams.. and that's a good point, somebody may have a quicker read (heh) on what to do than Zorn

I like the idea but not the way its being handled.
Once again the Redskins execution is lacking.
