I'd also say if no Rooney Rule there would be no Super Bowl champion Mike Tomlin. So unless you've walked a mile in a minorities shoes YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT! about what a minority goes through just to even get there foot in the door, even though we have a black President. All you guys have done is made yourselves look like racists and that saddens me because I don't see us all in black and white we are Burgundy and Gold....hail!
The point I was trying to make has absolutely nothing to do with race, or anything associated with race. It did however speak to the fair and unbiased implementation of a rule that's difficult to police.

No one has to tell me much about the rule or the purpose of it's intent. I was afforded a job in county government as a result of affirmative action. Mike Tomlin, Lovie Smith, Tony Dungy, Marvin Lewis were not hired as a rusult of the Rooney Rule, they were hired because they were well qualified for the position. None of these men had to be hired, regardless of the rule they still could have been passed over.

If you are a non-minority you do not have to be interviewed. If a owner interviews only minority canidates, non-minority canidates will be discriminated against.

Other then that a perfectly good rule.

And given the history of the NFL, do you really think this is going to happen?

The Rooney Rule is not crap. What's the harm for non-minorities, if a minority gets an interview?

If this started happening they would include non-minorities to the rule. This is just crap.

EOE law does NOT mandate that you must interview a minority candidate

Nah, he'll be coaching in some capacity in Cleveland next year once Holmgren lands the GM job there.

Re: Report: Shanahan in Talks with Redskins

Personally, I think one human of every ethnic group/sexual orientation/gender should be interviewed for every job available. Further, the presidency ought to be changed from a one person job to a cooperative hegemony, again with one of every ethnic group/sexual orientation/gender represented. Further, the UN should have multiple representatives from every nation one for every ethnic group/sexual orientation/gender.

Granted nothing would get accomplished, but hey BONUS!

Bro well said, but don't waste your time with this ignorant shit..... I am Black and I would be joyed to death to have Shanahan as our Coach, But to stomp on something that gives people oppourtunity.... is stupid and not sure Why no Mod or Matty has stepped in and put a muzzle on these idiots?

I'll say it again - what's the harm of ONE minority being interviewed?

none I was being sarcastic towards the whole debate. It's a simple rule, it's not the end of the world, it's also not salvation in a handbasket. It's just a rule.
