Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday
In hindsight, when you look at how Shanny handled Albert Haynesworth, Fred Davis, McNabb, and now Robert -- this guy isn't a player's coach. More specifically, players with big personas and egos. Just wasn't a good fit from the beginning.

Robert's also running for his life and sometimes getting nailed a second after receiving the snap. I don't think Kirk is any quicker or a better escape artist. As great as this line seems to be at run blocking, they're as equally bad at pass protection. It doesn't make sense, but I don't think any QB could succeed behind Tyler Polumbus and this line. If Shanahan's real objective here is keeping a young QB and team asset healthy as the team struggles, we should be playing Rex Grossman the rest of the way. I bet we'll see him before the year is over, probably when Polumbus lets Osi Umenyiora run right past him and concusses Kirk this week.

I thought they had already quit.

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday
I'm not saying he is or isn't. What I am saying is RG3's style is not like Eli's and Eli's style is not like RG3's. I'd like to have a QB like Eli, Rodgers, Peyton, etc. etc. I don't have to have a QB who is a running QB, I just need one who can avoid the rush.

Calling RG-3 QB-3 on the radio. Can we as a fan base just pony up the 7 mill yo get Shanny(who I am proud to say I have hated on several times even dating back to last year) the hell out of Washington now?

Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday
Well you could also be patient and see if a full and healthy offseason, a "real" headcoach and OC, a halfway decent O-line, and another WR can make Griff great again. You know there have been other great qb's who run alot. Steve Young, Fran Tarkenton, Steve Mcnair, Roger Staubach, John Elway - were they good qb's? Without their legs none of them would be who they are today. Griff needs to work on his mechanics, not throwing off his back foot, etc and he can be great too. You make it seem like he is Mike Vick, and he is not.

Is there a possibility RG3 was Snyder's guy? Any chance Snyder stepped up yet again and said I want him on this team? Remember RG3 was garnering more press then Luck. I guess what I'm trying to say is this would not be the first time Snyder stepped in and meddled with the team. WE all Know that. I'm not saying thats what happened but why go out and draft another QB so high if RG3 is your guy? Your right this team does suck. Defense especially. If that side of the ball could just hold teams to under 25 points we would have won a lot of games this year. It didn't happen. As far as coaching I'm not going to argue with you too much, this team sucked the first two years and most HC's have a plan, you either draft your QB and build around him or you build a team and then draft the QB. Ms looked to be doing the latter, but the OL has not gotten better in 4 yrs, only 1 upgrade a WR, and the defense has been digressing all 4 yrs. But ...as my best excuse to defend Shanny, you don't go out and buy a Nascar car and drive it through the city. Their not made for stop signs and stop lights and stop and go traffic. So you re route yourself so your car can hit the open road, more straight aways, less traffic lights. I think this is what MS did. He changed his system to fit RG3. Maybe butchered his system all together for RG3. and now that RG3 can't run as fast as he did last yr because of the brace then all those designed run plays won't fool defenses anymore so you have to change the scheme up again. I just think MS has done the best he could with what he had, QB wise. The building of the OL and other spots I blame him big time. Piss poor job. |

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday
I've been anti-Shanahan for years so this is no surprise to me. But Snyder and Griffin and the rest of this dysfunctional mess is all equally to blame. As are the media and the fans.
Despite obvious issues and flaws and the history of the past 20 years, especially under Snyder, fans continued to shell out money to buy tickets, merchandise, etc and keep this raging dumpster fire going. Nothing is going to change anytime remotely soon. Get used to five wins or less per season for probably a period of several years. It's really sad how this once proud, successful franchise has become one of the worst in pro sports. |
