If Hall does get a lick on him and actually hurts him it will create way to much brewhaha.
I would rather Tony become a Kerripo sanwich.

I just heard Adam Schefter say that Orakpo said the same thing to the Dallas media. So we need to change this thread to add Orakpo's name. I wonder if there will be any criticism of Orakpo about this, highly doubt it.

My point was simply that Hall went public with his intentions, so that brings any hit under scrutiny by the officials and the league. Regardless of any actual intent on the given play from scrimmage.

Point being, that now, with that public statement out there, the league and the officials will be watching Hall very closely is all I am saying and any hit, regardless of intent could, stress COULD result in Hall getting disciplinary action.

If he would have kept his mouth shut, then no worries. But its out there now and he cannot "undo" it.

Regardless, still pretty bold talk for a guy who has a grand total of 1 career sack in an 8 years.
No I got your point. But Im saying that the finger can be pointed at the Cowboys as well, if Romo is injured. They know what's coming.

I think it was more about getting in Romos head than anything else... well of course there is the spotlight. But Romo is doing a good job of grabbing the spotlight as well.

If the injuries are as bad as they claim then they should not play him. End of story. Are they not looking past the Redskins as far as having a healthy Romo for week 4? Or, do they underestimate our D's ability to get to Romo?

It makes no sense to play him if he's that hurt. I think Halls calling Romo out on it.

Im not buying the hype. Its really a non issue for the Skins. In the end, Romo will leave the game hurting much more than he came into it no matter if he gets hit or not.

I don't think there will be any fines given to Hall unless they are giving out fines for INT's.

Re: D.Hall says he's targeting Romo's ribs

orakpo said the Ds main focus is getting romo on the ground and their D off the field, basically a more mellow toned-down, not shocking bulletin board material statement . .if your referring to orakpos comments in all the articles circulating yesterday re this.

some fortworth dallas star articles try and make it sound like hall and orakpo want to intentionally hurt romo but then they just qoute hall's words and dont qoute what orakpo said . .
-------------

However, inflicting pain on the Cowboys’ quarterback isn’t the Washington defense’s primary goal, according to Pro Bowl pass rusher Brian Orakpo.

“If somebody gets injured, you want to go after that injury,” Orakpo said on a conference call with Valley Ranch media. “But we’re going to just play our game. We’re going to try to get Romo down when we can.

“We’re not going to just target the ribs and forget about trying to get the ball out or forget about trying to get him down and just hit his ribs. Nah, we’re going to go the best we can to get him down and get off the field.”

^^ this is from the espn article

There's no secret you attack your opponent's weakness. I just question the sense in making it so public. I mean, the Cowboys know the Redskins defense is coming after Romo.

Re: D.Hall says he's targeting Romo's ribs

It's probably already been said, but if you're a good tackler then you would always target ribs. Add to that, the fact that you have to hit a QB above the knees and below the head, and well you've got no other choice. In any case, I doubt D Hall gets a chance to sack Romo.

Yep, good tackling technique teaches you to explode through the midsection area and wrap up. Head up too of course.

Re: D.Hall says he's targeting Romo's ribs

D. Hall just throwing some stuff out to get in Romo and the Dallas OL's head. Really a non-issue, if a guy is hurt other players are going after it, it's the NFL. It's the Cowgirls job to keep Romo upright and if they can't, F 'em. As long as the hits are clean, I hope we knock Romo out again. Shame on Dallass for putting him out there if he's not 100%.

And as far as tackling, I've been very critical of D. Hall's performance in this area in the past, but so far this year he's done well.
