I have done these before in the past, and they end up being very fun. It's just a standard mock draft, but rather than one person picking for all 32 (or in this case, 30) teams, the teams are split up between the participants. So rather than representing all 32 teams, you represent 3-4. The idea is to get a combination of opinions, like the NFL Draft provides, rolled up into one mock draft. I'd be interested in doing one, and to do so, we need anywhere between 6 to 15 people total. The more we get, the more fun this will be. The teams will be split up between the participants, so that no one participant has 2 picks in a row, and no trades are allowed. Fun stuff.
If you are interested and would like to participate (assuming sufficiant interest), post a comment below. If I was unclear on some of the guidelines (as I tend to be), either post below or send me a PM. If we get this going, I'm looking for this to start mid week, either thursday or friday, because this will take many days. Thanks. -EDIT- If you want to pick for a certain team, put that in your post. First come first serve. Each participant will be the GM for 1-2 teams. |

![]() if we're doing all 7 rounds though, people have to be willing to research the no names. I can get list of needs and pick #s for every team when we're ready to hand out assignments. |

Re: A Warpath mock draft?
i say reasonable trades should be considered.
there's a good chance the saints trade down. to be a true moch draft we should be able to pull those off. maybe we leave trades up to discussion. i dont think we want this turning into madden or fantasy football though. |

Re: A Warpath mock draft?
Yeah, trades make it both more fun and a lot more complicated. We can use them. We don't have to do all seven, but I mean, why not?

Re: A Warpath mock draft?
We need guidelines on how we make picks. For example if I was picking for the Ravens I would see a clear need for a QB above just about anything else but we all know they aren't going QB early in the draft. I think we should make picks based on their needs and we think they will pick. Not how we think they should pick. Makes the difference between a fantasy draft and a mock draft.

Re: A Warpath mock draft?
right, i can post some guidelines on a bit of that... who has which picks, what each team needs (and severity) as well as prefered draft method (ie, denver targets a need and spends a bunch draft picks on it in the same area (mid round) hoping one pans out and they're always looking for another RB, denny green always takes best available regardless of needs, philly doesn't trade up and prefers defensive players etc)
right now the ravens are hoping beyond hope the titans let mcnair go, they figure thats the answer. If that falls through they pick up collins fairly cheaply. Odds are the mainly draft defense yet again. |

Re: A Warpath mock draft?
Please consider me a rock-solid participant for this. This is a TREMENDOUS idea. Gives everyone a chance to sound off on how they'd handle football decisions.
Sounds like fun!
