Lloyd or Randle El?
Which new addition to the redskins passing game is going to have a bigger impact? I say el because of all the different things he can do

A lot of times last year, Moss was the slot reciver and did a lot of seal blocking on running plays. They like him there because hes not a great stalk blocker. But I think he will be forced to play more of a split end this year opposite Lloyd/Fauria. On obvious passing downs from the gun, Cooley might play a true TE, and with Lloyd at split end, both Moss and Randle El can play slots and motion/shift etc. It will be incredibly difficult to match up with us presnap. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

Re: Lloyd or Randle El?
I say Lloyd as the #2. Last year we really needed a #2 to take pressure off Moss. Randle El will have an impact in the slot, as well as returning and his trick plays, but we didn't need that as much as we needed a #2.

Re: Lloyd or Randle El?
Randle El will be especially helpful if Campbell gets significant playing time. As a former QB, Randle El (and Ward) were remarkably helpful to Roethlisberger's development. They have the same internal clock that all QB's do, and made themselves better targets for it.
I'm sure Lloyd is going to see a lot of action as well. Last year, we were so thin at the position that Moss got overworked. This year, he could be involved in fewer snaps, to greater benefit.

Re: Lloyd or Randle El?
lloyd is much better receiving guy, so as far as the pasing game, he should have the bigger impact (that's what you asked). El i a good #3/depth and returner, both of which were needs.

Re: Lloyd or Randle El?
Lloyd hands down. He is a natural WR with the ability to catch the ball at its highest point.
Randle El is a great athlete with marginal receiving skills. He will work great from the slot. but lloyd can play outside the numbers. |

Re: Lloyd or Randle El?
Lloyd will open up the field for everyone. While he can be inconsistant he's probably the most talented WR on our team. Causes some huge matchup problems.

Re: Lloyd or Randle El?
lloyd is a great receiver, he really is. The coaching staff picked a star. I really believe that. He was on a horrible team and excelled. He doubled the amount of yards of anyone receiving on his team. He did all that was possible. I forget this stat that I looked up once but all of the other people who doubled any other player on their team in receiving (I think 3 others like Joey Galloway, Moose, and someone else I can't remember whom) went to the pro bowl at least once in the past two seasons. Muhammad is not a bad player; he led the league a year prior to going to da bears but did not do so well with the bears. He did however, like Lloyd, double the yardage of any other player on his team receiving. He, like Lloyd, is a great receiver stuck in a bad offense. Lloyd has all the skills needed to be great, he is slower than moss but he is fast, he can catch like no other, and all of his press conferences have shown me that he is an intelligent person. He has what it takes and he will be an amazing asset.
This offense is unstoppable. I wish we would play Cooley in his role that he has been playing for the past two seasons and get a good TE but it seems under Saunders Cooley will be a true TE. Cooley is a top 5 TE in the league (and that isn't just a redskin's fan bias, media has said this) and is lined up next to a top 3 line, the best WR corps, a top 5 RB, and an above average, usually accurate QB, oh yeah, almost forgot, we have the best OC in the league and an offensive mastermind who happens to have won 3 SBs as a coach. Be afraid people. |

Re: Lloyd or Randle El?
I'm going to go with Lloyd here. I think Randel El could have a bigger impact on the team as a whole as far as the kick returning and special teams goes, but I think Lloyd will have the biggest impact on the passing game. He is our biggest reciver (which really isnt that big) and he attacks the ball which is key. I think he can take some good pressure off of Santana and will be a great addition in the WR corp.

Re: Lloyd or Randle El?
I gotta go with Lloyd cuz he's a bit more proven as a wr and is going to be our chain mover and go up and grab it redzone guy.

Re: Lloyd or Randle El?
Brandon Lloyd is a natural wide receiver and will see more balls his way than Randle-El. This is no knock on R-E. I suspect the coaches have other ideas for him, including special teams.
With all the competition, no one should be surprised to see better production from David Patton and maybe, just maybe, from Taylor Jacobs if he makes the cut. Apart from the question, all the Redskins moves this off season suggests to me that the team thinks this is the year! Their free agent and draft moves are made for the here and now. |

Re: Lloyd or Randle El?
I Think El will be the special teams returner and appear for half the time with Patten. Lloyd will be #2 We have missed an impactful player since the great BMitchell. This on paper comes at the best time with new additions, Delicate QB health and deliverance, the defense has compromised in the secondary and Empty LA's old side is available.
