Last Night's Comments on NBC?

Man will this place be buzzing a week from today.

During last night's Eagles vs. Raiders game I caught a quick blurb about the guys on the broadcast debating the different divisions and who each liked. I missed the NFC East. Did anyone catch this and can share.

Hey guys, it may just be me, but I liked the NBC coverage from last night. Of course you have Al Michaels and the "long-over-due HOF" John Madden with the booth coverage, who are excellent as always, but Costas and Collinsworth were pretty good last night. Sunday nights will be fun.

Who knows what Monday nights will be like.

The only thing I saw about the NFC East was talk about the cowturds and T.O. (go figure). Basically, Collinsworth was saying that he thought T.O. would blow up and that Parcells would deal with him at the first sign of trouble. Madden seemed to be defending T.O. by saying that his first season with a team is always a good one.

BTW, it really seemed like Madden was picking on Collinsworth. He kept challenging Collinsworth's comments and you could just tell that Collinsworth didn't stand a chance against Madden in football analysis. I thought it was pretty cool, since I don't care for Collinsworth too much.

i noticed that too. I'm no fan of collinsworth but even when he made good points madden seem to harp on him as if collinsworth were talking down about madden himself until he finally backed off near the end of that segment. meanwhile Michaels seemed to be trying to diffuse the situation a couple times.

So it's a 3-man booth? Is it going to be that way all season? Collinsworth stinks.

Only Madden & Michaels in the booth. Collinsworth was playing a complementary type role.

I did catch this part of the broadcast. When Madden said " you take your guys for the 90's and I will take my guys from the 70's and lets play" It even felt a bit forced to be honest. I wonder if NBC is looking for this to develop to drum up more interest.

It was only Madden and Michaels in the booth, but Collinsworth and Costas were there for the Halftime stuff. They started talking just before the end of the first half, and Madden owned Collinsworth

Yeah it did seem forced. It wasn't much of a surprise that Madden thinks his era was better, and Collinsworth thinks the same of his era.

BTW, I've never seen Madden and Collinsworth work together. Maybe there are some underlying issues between them?

They were just saying how all the teams in the division were good and collinsworth said he could make a case for every team in the division to win it
