Thomas Fan Message

Right Guard Randy Thomas has a message up on Redskins.Com TV at Washington Redskins. He is basically asking the fans to not give up. There are 16 games in the season, etc.

I was curious about what those who have seen it thought of it. My take: This is the closest anyone over there has come to admitting that they have underperformed. I take it as a good sign.

Re: Thomas Fan Message

As a fan, here is the message I'd like to deliver to the players on Redskins.com TV:

Quote:
Give up? Give up? You are accusing me of giving up?

How about if you stop playing like fucking dog shit?

Do you have any idea what your conversion rate is on 3rd and 3 or less this year? 3rd and 1 is really fucking embarrassing. How about the 3rd down stop rate on defense? 3rd and 45 isn't a safe distance right now.

How about a few pass plays on weak ass secondaries that go for more than 1.5 yards in the air? Speaking of weak ass secondary play, this week, make sure you cover any refs in the secondary tight, because based on what we've seen so far everybody else is open, so we might as well put our corners on someone they can cover.

You don't want me to give up? Well fuck you, Randy Thomas. How about if you man up and get this group of sorry ass no account underachieving mother fuckers to grow a pair and win some games -- instead of whining about the heat you are taking from the fans.

Nobody in the club needs to come forth and admit they have underachieved. The scoreboard speaks for itself. Maybe instead of telling the fans he should tell his teammates to not give up. At 2-3 its up to them, since they will not return my emails and offers to join the team and/ or coaching staff.

Re: Thomas Fan Message

I know I'm not a fan who wants anything to do with that reply.

I love the fact that we actually have people on the team like Thomas who understand and seem to truly give a rats ass about the frustrations of the fans and realize they need the fans to be into the games the rest of the season. I'm sure the majority of us just don't know what to make of the dramatic inconsistency, but none of us have given up on the team and the season already. If there is anyone who really has then the team doesn't need ya.

Re: Thomas Fan Message

i think that it saays alot when at least SOMEONE is man enough to come forward and say "hey, we're fucking up, but it will get better"

yes true, their 3rd down conversion and stop rate is fucking atrocious but, but....ok there's really no excuse, we just need to step the fuck up and play like the multi-million dollar PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES we are....

PERIOD

Re: Thomas Fan Message

No, that isn't what Thomas has been saying. He is all over the Washington Post blaming "bad luck" and using poker analogies.

Look, when I'm playing poker, I love it when people blame bad luck -- because it usually means they are too blind to see their own bad plays.

When you're playing football, it's even worse.

That's right, Hess. We just need to have more faith. If we just think positive thoughts, hold hands and sing Kumbuyah, the fact that the Skins are the most underachieving team in the NFL will not matter. The fact that the Skins just got beat by one of the worst teams in the NFL will not matter.
