First I've heard of this one? It's also on SI.com

I give that a 1% chance of happening...if they traded away their day 1 picks as well as vilma for CP straight up, then maybe.

I thought Portis really liked it here in DC but I guess that what they all want us to think until something better comes their way. I guess he can go to NY and act like a clown with his stupied cotumes and fit right in. Maybe thats why the skins got the bets deal done because they knew portis would bail on us. Do we even play them this year so Sean can knock the crap out of him. I always thought he was over rated

Where did it say that Portis wanted to be traded? According to the rumor, he just told Vilma they would be traded for each other. That doesn't mean he's happy about it, and if they trade him, how is it him bailing on the Redskins? I'd call it Washington bailing on one of their star players, as they so often do.

Think we are being a little harsh on CP Here don't ya think. CP has never waiverd about being a redskin. I wonder if Joe "The Game Has Passed Me By" Gibbs is pissed that he's not the fans choice as there faviorate redskin. Thank god we have the best back in the NFL since sanders in Betts waiting to lead us to the goal line and then as we are about to score FUMBLE

WOW!! One bullsh%t RUMOR and your throwing the guy under the bus?? Gibbs loves Clinton for one, secondly we need two starting caliber RBs, and third, Vilma is a middle linebacker! We just gave London Fletcher $25M! This is an old rumor, and Gibbs laughed out loud when he was asked about it a few months ago. Did I really just waste my time posting something on this thread? Damn it...

Calm down cowboy. There is almost no chance he is going anywhere so get used to stupid costumes, 150 and a touch or two every week.

I'd call it closer to 50/50. I think they'd trade Portis in a hearbeat if anyone would take his contract.

STOP THE INSANITY.

The trade is impossible from the Redskins' perspective, trading Portis would generate a cap hit we could not absorb. The hit would eat up $8 million in cap space, and we currently only have $4 - $5 million in cap room.

Secondly, the Jets JUST traded for Thomas Jones. We do follow the NFL on this site, right?

This rumor came from Portis being Portis. He was probably effing with the media on purpose. He probably whispered to Vilma beforehand, "Dude check this out, I'm going to send these newspaper types in a tizzy, just play along."

So Jonathan, did you hear you're going to Washington? I think you'll like Washington, how will I like NY?
