Holy cr*p. 34.5 million in the first three years as a rookie?!? Makes me want to walk myself into my bosses office and ask for a raise.

I agree...
Unless he puts up Marino / Manning type numbers, he won't be worth it. The Raiders should not have caved. The little SOB would have gotten half as much next year, if not worse.

Maybe the last 4-5 games after they are like 2-9. Even the Raiders are not so stupid to risk injury to him on a wasted season. Add in the fact he missed the preseason and you may not see him at all cept at the end of games.

The smartest thing they could do is just let him sit for the entire season, 1- for his progression, 2- to show him that holding out for a huge contract has a punishment to it.
Of course, knowing the Raiders, they will cave and have him playing by week 10 when they are 3-7.

i dont think those words can describe him. he is about 6'5" and about 260lbs. and the worse punishment the raiders can give him is getting him on the field behind that sorry ass offensive line they have. he will be running for his life every snap

I wonder how his teammates feel about all this...it should be a fun locker room for him to get accustomed to

Too much for an unproven player. I hope the NFL addresses this issue in the offseason. It is ridiculous how much money these kids are getting before playing a snap in the NFL.

With rookie contracts so high now I wonder how dallas plans to sign the #1 and #2 overall picks next season!

LOL...when I wrote that, I turned to my wife and said, "watch, someone will comment on that about the fact that he is a BIG guy, not a little guy."

He is a "little SOB". Terrell Owens is a "HUGE SOB". Russell will be huge eventually, but for now, he's just a little sob.

Yeah pretty much, if they really wanted to do this to get him to play they should have done this earlier. Many people predicted that he wouldn't start this year, but I agree if they Raiders suck he will be in soon.
