Thank you Smoot for Shazam!
I really like our kicker thus far, but then most of us do. Yeah, he's missed a field goal now and then, and that kick off out of bounds in the preseason was aggravating, but all in all with what we've suffered the last few years, he's been a pleasant surprise. The only problem I had was his freakin last name... Suishman. Now, the announcers never pronounce it the same, every week it seems there was a different pronounciation. Then it seemed like I read somewhere that it was pronounced Swishman. So, for many many months I referred to the guy as Swishman. But then I kept hearing different prounounciations, and even reading about different ones in print. Sooooo, thank you thank you Smoot for giving a nickname that is sure to stick....Shazam! If this guy keeps it up, this thing could really take off. Imagine the T-shirt and marketing opportunities with that big lightning bolt. Thanks again Smoot, and please hold on to the ball next time.

Re: Thank you Smoot for Shazam!
It should be noted that Shazam has only missed ONE field goal in his tenure as a Redskin!

LOL. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? LOL.
I like when the announcer's pronounce his name as Squeeze 'em. Always makes me laugh.

Re: Thank you Smoot for Shazam!
I agree 100%.
Especially since Sellers used to lose his head and get called for personal fouls on nearly every special teams play, but now he knows how to harness that aggression and use it for good. I fear him, and yet I cannot look away... ![]()

LMAO!! How bad was 70's television.. Damn..
Just let him kick 3 more game winners and have us sitting at 5-2 or something and ESPN Sunday NFL Countdown will do a package on him with that as the intro.. I smell a 'Mayne Event'..

Re: Thank you Smoot for Shazam!
If Shazam can make the roster the next 5-6 years it will be another feather in Gibbs' cap, just like if JC can be our qb of the future.
Look at the steady winners - Iggles, colts, pats. over the past 6-7 years or so they've had a reliable kicker. Not many teams can seem to keep one guy for long. |

Re: Thank you Smoot for Shazam!
Whenever I think of Shazam!, first thing I think of is Jim Neighbors on Mayberry playing Gomer, he always yelled "Shaaaazam!". Next, I think of the tv show Smootsmack linked to. What a great nickname.
