6-1 Is Great

6-1 is great throughout two games six field goals & one touchdown this season I though we would do okay but not this good!!! Great Job D!!! If we can more pressure on the opponents QB from the front 4 we can go far this season.

You know I thought the same thing. But I want New England because Gibbs needs to teach Belichek a lesson in his own home. Straight up smash mouth down in your gut football. The key for us is to keep Brady and his clowns off the field with long drives. We've got to watch out for Arizona and Detroit because they by far have some of the best WR's.

Sorry but I think I'll hold off on wanting NE. Mr. Brady isn't going to be missing Wr's like McNabb was. They shut down Tomlinson so I don't think we need to be playing smashmouth with them. We had better be able to hit some things in the passing game. Otherwise it's going to be a long day.

Yeah, let's worry about the Giants this week. They have a bad habit of upsetting us after a big win. I wanna see us smack them around a little bit and win big.

Hell, we need to think one game at a time, but visualize a SuperBowl trophy like the Steelers did 2 seasons ago. This team reminds me alot of that scenario. A young effeicient QB with veteran players who support his performance with confidence. Yeah, SuperBowl or bust!

Re: 6-1 Is Great

Weren't we one of the few teams who beat the New England Patriots in their last Super Bowl appearance? Of course, it was one of the few games we won that year!

I remeber that! They won like, what? 21 games in row after we beat them. They are pissed. IMO, I'm counting on that being a DEFINITE loss. But, I love it when the Skins prove me wrong. Just not when its a bad thing......

Re: 6-1 Is Great

chargers is somewhat one dimensional now without their speedy wr. so NE concentrate on beating them by stacking the line.

the skins is more a treat because of our deep ball ability and of course portis and company to keep them guessing. this will be a repeat of 2005 the only difference is that we will not lose on playoffs

Exclamation Re: 6-1 Is Great

Are you people actually reading the first post?!?!?!

He's NOT saying that he thinks we're going to start off the season by going 6-1, he's saying that so far our defense has given up 6 field goals to only 1 TD, which seems like a damn good stat!

Yes, the thread title does seem misleading, but that's why you need to read a little bit.

I've been meaning to change this thread title since the beginning. It's a terribly misleading title and should be changed...but I'm too lazy

The funny thing is that even after my post people continue to think this thread is about the team going 6-1.

In high school I had a teacher who would give us these big homework assignments but never actually read them. When we finally caught on that she just glanced at the first page and gave us full credit we started to write things like "blah blah blah, I bet you're not even reading this are you? I could say that 4 + 5 = potato and you'd just nod like some kind of a r'tard."
It was great fun until my friend got caught and we had to stop.

Back to the actual thread: Right now our offense isn't putting up a ton of points so having a "bend but don't break" defense scares me a bit. It's good to see we're not letting them in the end zone but I'd rather keep them out of the red zone entirely.

I take this to mean our D isn't dominant, but as the title of this thread says, 6 field goals & 1 td is pretty stout, no matter the competition. Especially when you consider that we are -2 in turnovers.

If we can get some turnovers, our D can carry us a long way while JC matures & the offense becomes dangerous, which it will.
