Quake's 5 disapointments thus far

With the halfway point fast coming here are my 5 disapointments so far:

1. Bears Defense:

In 2006 the Chicago Bears rode their defense all the way to the super bowl and with bigger aspirations for 2007 it is safe to say that the Bears defense has been a bust thus far. They cant stop the run or the pass and they are on a downward spiral. With the Packers racking up wins like funnel cakes it wont be long before the Bears are out of the picture completely.

2. Shaun Alexander

Oh how the mighty have fallen. After 1,696 yards in 2004 and 1,880 and 28 total TDs in 2005 the former NFL MVP has really regressed. The coverboy of Madden 2007 had an injury plagued 2006 and has been a sub-par performer so far in 2007. Has age finally caught up to Mr. Alexander? It seems so.

3. New York Jets

After a dream 2006 that ended in the wild card round the Jets had high hopes for the 2007 campaign, but extremely poor QB play and an ineffective run game and an injury plagued defense the Jets are 1-7 and basically out of playoff contention for 2007. What took Mangini so long to make the QB switch. Who knows? But Kellen Clemens will get his start this Sunday against the Redskins which could spell the end of the Pennington era in the big apple.

4. Kickoff/Punt coverages

It seems like this season more ans more kicks are being taken the distance. What is this about? What are the coaches preaching? It seems like every week there is at least 2 taken for a score let it be punt or kickoff. Can we get a stop to that. Missed tackles all over the place.

5. The Media

Can they just shut up about the damn Patriots and the Colts it is really making some shows like NFL Live and Primetime unwatchable because this is all they talk about. Even in games that they are not playing in they get most of the media attention. Now their match-up this weekend as been marked as the biggest regular season game in history. Memo to the media: There are 30 other teams in the league

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.
