Watched The Falcon/Raven Game...

Vick handed it off to dunn twice, then got sacked for -20 yds and called it a night. Raven's offensive is still horrible, their defense is as good as last year though, and looked like their normal mid-season selves.

The later strings just looked worse and worse... falcon's defense (1st string) isn't too bad... DeAngelo Hall is a great CB, he deserves his starting spot, and looks like he'll be working on pro bowls over the next 2-3 years... he's fast too... other than that, there wasn't much that wasn't expected. Kyle Boller was better, but still not that good.

Honestly, I thought the Raven's O line looked horrible. The falcons constantly broke through. I understand if a blitzer comes, but they had 3 guys after the QB the whole time!

Pat Summerall used to be great, honestly, I hate hearing him announce now. hes getting a little to old, calls about half of the play by play, and is slow in doing so. It doesnt take away from his past, but at this point it is almost annoying listening to his commentary.

You know what I noticed about both teams defense, they played as a team. Somethign we havent seen from the Skins in years. The falcons even have a new system in place, switching from 3-4 to 4-3 is a big adjustment. weve just had so many changes in both personel and coaches, something I think we just line up and react, but dont acutally call a play. Our players havent been on the same page. I hope Gibbs finally brings a system that everyone respects, adn learns, and sticks with it so we can finally look like a team out there and utilize our talent.

Oh yea of little faith...Gibbs is back baby. Under Gibbs the Redskins will play like a "team" again.

Life as a Redskins fan is once again joyful.

Thank you, I agree with you 100% about Summerall. Such an old gezzer.
I think in the begining of the game Boeller Struggled big time. But as he played more, and he played a decent amount he look a lot better. I think the same would have been true for Ramsey if he would have sayed in a bit longer. I also think that Gibbs needs to start calling some plays that were gonne run in real games. I think its better to practice what your actually gonna do, than keeping your offense secret. Football is not about secrets. Both teams know what the other is gonna do. Its all about excution, the team that excutes better is gonna win.

Hey let's give some respect to Pat Summerall, the guy is a legend in the booth. Old or not I enjoyed hearing him last night, he might not be around much longer.

I love the old guys... Pat Summerall, Keith Jackson... etc.... ya they're past their prime, but they deserve our respect. Without them, I wouldn't be the football fan I am today. You'd rather listen to Dennis Miller? Darryl Johnson? Phil Simms? Jerry Glanville?

Jerry Glanville is the worst! Whenever he'd do the Skins game on Fox, I'd want to jump into the TV to wring his neck.

I have a lot of respect for Summerall and it's nice to see that he's been able to overcome (hopefully) his inner demons (alcoholism) and he had successful surgery last year. He is past his prime though, and it's a bit sad that he had to get this job because Mike Patrick has to have major heart surgery. Let's hope that Patrick is ok.

I like Phil Simms by the way, I think he's a good color commentator. I've always been sort of partial to Verne Lundquist as a play-by-play guy. But my all time favorite was the late, great Jack Buck. Used to love listening to Buck and Hank Stram do MNF on the radio

I second that on Verne Lundquist. He was real good. I also like Mike Patrick. Al Michaels ranks up there at the top.

Also, and I can't think of this guy's name, but he used to do play-by-play with Dan Fouts for CBS before FOX took over. I think he's with TNT now. Anyway, what's-his-name is good too. I'll look it up and get back to you on him.

What I generally can't stand are the color comment guys. I used to hate Matt Millen and Randy Cross. Glanville sucked too.

Because more and more backups came into the game?

Dick Stockton is who I'm thinking of. He was good. Married to Leslie Visser too -- good catch.
