big screen tv
does anyone have any experience or knowledge(sp) of tv repair ? i have a 42" samsung that crapped out on me today. it was working fine last night but this morning when i went to turn it on it would not turn on. right below the screen there is a power button, around the power button is a light. i unplugged the tv to get the light to shut off because it was not turning off from pushing the power button(which it should), when i plugged it back in the light was off. i then pushed the power button, to turn the tv on , the light came on but the screen is totally blank and there is no sound. once again i tried to turn the tv off by pushing the button but the light would not go out. so i'm right back where i started.
it's crazy, the power button is lighting up as if there is power but the tv is not turning on. has anyone had this problem before, can anyone help?

Re: big screen tv
Check out this site: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/
I purchased a Sony HDTV( CRT) a few years ago and it needed some tweaking. They had a thread for my exact unit. It included the service code manual and a user guide explaining what each setting was. I would do a search for model number first and hopefully there is something there that might help. Because there is no sound, I doubt the bulb died( if you have a projection tv). It could be something as simple as a blown fuse. |
