Depth Chart Released:
Washington Redskins
No big surprises. Looks like Carter moved to LDE and Taylor goes to RDE. Surprised frost is still ahead of brooks, and I love the backup center name. I'm getting his jersey!

Re: Depth Chart Released:
I think it's odd that Carter and Taylor are switched. Has this been confirmed by the coaches?
And I thought Thomas was learning the same spot that Moss plays, now he's listed as backing up ARE? |

Re: Depth Chart Released:
Thrash ahead of Kelly for now. Interesting.
No real surprises. Erasmus James is a 3rd-stringer, I thought he was supposed to actually contribute.

Re: Depth Chart Released:
I like moving JT to right end. He'll get more pressure on the QB there. Of course, he might still switch with AC on run plays, or they might need some LB help for AC.

He's not expected to see any playing time until the end of the preseason, and even that might be pushing it. He's coming off a serious injury and needs to be worked back into the mix slowly. They're also working on getting his weight down closer to 255 to help him get some speed back and take some pressure off his knees. I honestly don't see him as a guarantee to even make the final roster. |

Re: Depth Chart Released:
That sucks, I was really hoping erasmus james might emerge to at least a backup role...whatever, like ^^ says, he is coming off of what some might considere a career-ending injury so if he takes his time let him.
Im just glad to see the depth the skins have...hb blades behind london fletcher is a concern tho |

If you are doubting Blades abilities I think you need to watch him more closely. He is a solid tackler and shows a great upside. |

Re: Depth Chart Released:
If you look at the bottom of the page it says that it is an unofficial depth chart. I wouldn't put too much credence into this depth chart as it seems that the coaches didn't release this. It's just based off of the lineups in training camp.
This lineup won't stay the same come September.

I heard Zorn would probably be moving them back and forth in games as to not always have JT on the right. |

Re: Depth Chart Released:
I know this chart has been off before. Like Matty, I was also surprised at where D. Thomas & Kelly were listed. I didn't know Crummey was being worked on as a center. Would be cool if he can take that on & replace rabach in a few years.
I didn't know Nemo was still on the roster. |

Re: Depth Chart Released:
I wouldn't get too worked up over back-up depth positions. I think players like WR Kelly and DE James are further back b/c of injuries right now. I wouldn't read much into it.
I think the the three observations I had were: 1) Jason Taylor at RDE. Surprising b/c it conflicts with initial reports. 2) Our LB depth is for shit, especially with the training camp injuries. I would be SHOCKED if we didn't pick up a veteran backup once roster cuts begin. 3) I still think about how much better our defense would look with Sean Taylor lined up in the first team. He is missed for sure. Same goes for THE ADE ![]() |

I wasn't doubting his abilities, I sincerely believe that him and rocky are going to be a dynamic duo in the next few seasons. However, he is still pretty young and missing training camp isn't good news...Plus, Fletch is awesome, but he is pushing 34 and injury concerns are always there considering the position he plays and a reliable backup is necessary. So, my concern was that I hope there is some one besides Blades to provide some depth at that position. |

Re: Depth Chart Released:
True that. i am glad to see a fellow Salisbury Seagull on the chart though (Byron Westbrook) has anyone seen him in training camp? What are the odds he stays on the active roster the whole season?
