NEW!! Improved Front Office Strategy!

Redskins Eye Defensive Ends In Draft

About time we see something other than QB Sanchez and a switch to rename our team the Mex-Skins!

I've said DE in the Draft for thirteen years straight! Of course, this year I was thinking OL! LOL!

Re: NEW!! Improved Front Office Strategy!

This thread might be better suited for the NFL Draft Forum. As it is another Draft related thread.

Re: NEW!! Improved Front Office Strategy!

This article has Sidbury listed at 6'7". Oops. He's 6'2".

Personally I believe the sources leaking behind the scenes stuff about us trying to get Sanchez over some nothing fluff article on the team's website. I mean, I'm sure if we had a real interest in 1st round DE, we wouldn't be advertising it our own home page. Actually, nevermind, we actually might.

Re: NEW!! Improved Front Office Strategy!

Well a DE @ 13 only makes sense if all 4 top OTs are gone, Rey is gone and we can't get jack shit trading down. I see DE as maybe our 4th need after LB, OT, C and possibly guard, and I just don't comprehend the hype among some folks for drafting one. Daniels/Wynn rotating = very good runstopping w/ the occasional sack/pressure on the QB. We can swing big Al to LDE here and there and still have a very good DT rotation left in the middle (personally I think this setup will yield regular sacks). And last our quickest DT Lorenzo is practicing at LDE now...I think this kid might be a real diamond in the rough for us. Blache is a pretty creative schemer so I just don't see DE as a big issue, but what the hell if Orakpo falls he'd be hard to pass on just like Raji.

...Rey will help us more than Orakpo though as he's a bigger upgrade at LB than Orakpo will be for us at LDE

We need a few players to help us compete with the Eagles and Giants. I know we beat Philly 2 times but both games were so close. You see both those teams believe in strong offense and deffensive lines. Maybe we need to try that philosphy. If Orakpo is there we better take him cause Daniels and Wynn scare no one. Lorenzo trying DE please he is to slow bro, keep him backing up our DT. I hope C.Wilson or Rob Jackson can surprise us and step up. We need speed on the edge to get after Romo and McNabb. If RAK is gone take Rey Maualuga.

I agree! Plus Rey doesn't have the "bust" factor that Orakpo/Ayers have!

Re: NEW!! Improved Front Office Strategy!

This is a redskins.com source so I don't put to much into what comes out of there. It's bascially the Larry Michael of Redskins news (sometimes literally). Hell the Redskins could go 0-16 and the site would still put a positive spin on things.

Larry Michael is a company man. This is why I love Brian Mitchell - he keeps it REAL!

Brian Mitchell is a pure, unadulterated Skins hater. Ever since he got released in '99 he hasn't had anything positvie to say about the organization! He's like the ex-girlfriend who wanted to marry you but you dumped her right before Valentine's day, they're always gonna hate you! You can actually see him smirking in pleasure after each one of our losses on the post-game show. How can you be a B&G fan and listen to that dude? He's an Eagle...cause he's always player "catcher" for Andy Reid.

I hate that guy and wish Snyder would fire him from 980!

I don't care if he played for the Eagles or the Giants. Personally, I don't blame him for signing with a team in the division. He was a leader and a damn good return man (anybody else getting tired of watching Randle El gain no yards on punt returns?) for us and we dogged him when we signed Deion if I'm not mistaken. He made us pay for management's lack of loyalty every time he played us.
Mitchell doesn't walk on egg shells for anybody unlike Larry Michael who is the ultimate company man. The skins could lose by 50 points and he'd try to put a positive spin on it.
Mitchell will always be a Redskin in my eyes.

Yea BMitch was a stud with the Redskins. I liked the way he played with a attitude and he never backed down. He also could back it up with his play on the field. When we let him go he may have lost a step but he was such a vocal leader for our team that you need to keep a player like that.
Deon was looking for his last big payday. He was crying about coming back to play for Marty plus he had a toe injury. I couldnt stand him with the cowboys but he seems like he got his act together since retiring.
