Gameplan: Cleveland

I just want to move on past Monday's game and start talking about next week, if that's cool with everybody else.

The Browns are in a world of hurt (no pun intended). I think the biggest challenge the Redskins will face is that this is the first mobile QB they'll be up against this season. So all out blitzing might not be so easy. Might we see Taylor playing up near the line a bit more and someone, maybe Marshall, being a spy on Garcia?

Offensively, we should really abuse the Browns. I'd like to see to the Skins do some some more play action, even try a few trick plays (flea-flicker, Gardner pass?). The Browns are the perfect team to "test" things on

Yeah, a Win this time sounds exellent. The only thing the Browns have going for them is homefield advantage. They beat the Ravens big in week one, so for now I'll just assume they dont play terrible at home. However, we are a much better team than they are, hands down. I agree with alot of the stuff smootsmack said, as well. Run Portis like all hell. That Browns defense is really banged up.

their offense is worlds worse than dallas or NYG, nice week to pad defensive stats and run up the score.

but most importantly, WIN.

The Browns haven't been the best run-stopping defense this year, so I think first things first.....run Portis run. Portis should be able to get over 100 yards easily. If we can do that, then we'll be able to do some play action or trick plays.....whatever it takes to get some points on the board.

We need to score more than 30 points this game.

I agree with you all. Lets just WIN!
I wanna see vintage Redskins ball where Gibbs controls the clock & the opposing team's total offense. Where Portis smashes the ball up the middle for a handful of yards each snap & Brunell doesn't each the turf.

Run the ball, control the clock, protect the QB, pass efficiently, take your deep shots when they're there, don't turn it over. Gibbs football.

On D, keep the pressure on. Don't let Garcia beat you with his mobility. Stuff the run to force second and third and long. Bring the heat. Williams football.

Win.

at this point, this is a must win. the raucous after a loss at cleveland would be deafening and really reach our players.

they need to tee off on these guys, but stay controlled. focused ferocity. get their confidence up, watch the gameplans work, and build, build, build, till we see the NFC East again.

Joe Gibbs like most of us is pissed off. I see us beating the hell out of the next six teams bringing Philly to our doorstep with a 7-2 record. I know your'e suppose to prepare for each team separately but this shit is personal. We have to determine this season's future in the next 7 games. Gibbs has to get Betts, Sellers and Cooley more involved in this offense from this point out. If he plays conservative in first half the offense is going to struggle. The play action pass must take flight after 325 yards of offense against the Cowb#@tches. Lets go full blast and not just do enough just to win. The Giants aren't even close to the talent base we have and they destroyed Cleveland. We win 35, Cleveland 7

I would actually like to see Chris Cooley do a little bit of running at the goal line. He is one heck of a good player at breaking tackles and holding onto the ball. It seems like every time that guy makes a catch that he runs over at least one or two defenders. He is big and mobile and I think that putting him in there at practice might be a good idea in case we get in that goal line situation again (against a tough defense) in the future.

COOOOOOLLLLLEEEEEY!

I'm with you. How in the hell could the man who caught more TD's than anyone be inactive for the first three weeks. Taylor Jacobs is good but damn. Maybe with Coles being injured McCants will be activated. We need him.

Gameplan, eh? Heavy dose of Portis...let him carry the ball about 30 times for about 245 yards. More bombs from Brunell....let him throw the ball for about 300+ yards and about 5 TD passes (not counting the 3 TDs Portis will run for!)

So I say it will be:

Washington - 56
Cleveland - 7

The Browns' points will come after we take out all of our first and second stringers! :cheeky-sm :thumb:
