Re: Samuels quot eon Campbell provided by Kevin Sheen on Redskins radio

FREE AGENCY: Momentum builds for Vick to Skins
Michael Vick | Falcons | Interested: Redskins? Patriots? Ravens? Raiders? Saints?
Jason Campbell can't catch a break. At nearly every step this offseason, the Redskins have been linked to another QB, and with comments made recently by Jim Zorn and some other 'Skins coaches, he may have Michael Vick breathing down his neck at some point this season.
An anonymous Redskins coach told Fox 31 in Denver that, "There is definitely a number of us who would love to have him play here. I can tell you I would not mind at all."

While a little bit dismissive, head coach Jim Zorn left the door open in saying before Washington's first training camp practice that they would not be signing Vick "at this juncture." The insinuation here is that the team will have Vick's cell number handy if Campbell struggles to start the 2009 campaign.

Meanwhile, Vick's contention that he was close to signing with a team has been refuted by what a source has told ESPN's John Clayton. Clayton notes that it's likely we won't see a Vick signing until training camps are "well under way".

Okay, so the "momentum" allegedly building is evidenced by a Redskin coach mentioning that several members of the coaching staff wouldn't mind having him on the team. What a stupidly misleading headline.

By the way, the headline has now been changed on the site to add Baltimore to the mix.

Nevertheless, it is disappointing to hear any coach on the skins wouldn't mind having him on the team.

On a separate note, I'm not a Campbell supporter, but I believe him to be a better QB than Vick. Vick can run, he can do things that Campbell cannot, but Vick is not a good QB. In addition, it is important for a team to support its QB, and whether or not Campbell is right for the team, if he is deemed to be the QB for the Redskins, it is entirely out of bounds for any assistant coach to make any comments that can be in anyway misconstrued as supporting the idea of a QB change.

Any team that gets Vick is going to get him at the league minumum for a player with his tenure. He'll be a situational player... not a threat to any credible starting QB. Even if, by chance, he were to land with the Sninz, he is no threat to JC. Jizzle Cizzle will get every opportunity to succeed. It's his team for now.

Re: Samuels quote on Campbell provided by Kevin Sheen on Redskins radio

6-7 games..when did they say Vick would be eligible to play after the 6 game or earlier..hmmmmm..I think there is something behind this. I am rooting for JC but I find this very interesting..

People must also keep in mind. People are going to try to keep it low key and I did read on Tanner Cooley's blog that Vick was in the area (Lansdowne) a couple days ago...Hmmmm..Something to ponder..

TannerCooley:Wondering why Michael Vick is in Lansdowne and even more, why was he at Buffalo Wing Factory in Ashburn earlier today??
Twitter / Tanner Cooley: Wondering why Michael Vick ...

Also keep in mind DeAngelo Hall is here and is a big Vick supporter and may have given his input and also that Vick is from VA...Hmmmm

I think it would be season over to give JC 6-7 games if he is struggling to the point where you want to bench him and THEN bring in another QB who hasnt taken a single snap with the team. if you dont have faith in JC,TC or CB then go ahead now and get someone in here who can learn until/IF decision time comes.

You're thinking too much. Stop worrying. Why would we get Vick in the middle of the season and expect him to take us to the playoffs when he has to learn a WHOLE new offense and get refamiliar with the game of football? Snyder's not even that dumb.

I am not advocating getting him. I just wanted to point out that Vick ran the WCO in ATL. The only major differences would be in the running game.

Not thinking too much. Not worrying. Who said he was going to take us to the playoffs? he may need to learn an offense..he might be rusty but I don't think he needs to learn how to play football again. As for the last sentence. He has gotten smarter over the past few years....But I can think more than a few times he made dumb moves. But usually they were for players who were past their prime by a long shot. IE Bruce Smith, Deion Sanders..He has made better moves but I wont call any of them beneficial @ this point..

Do you want the literal definition or are you asking me to state what benefits we have received from some of Dan's signings since he's been here. (being an ass vs legitimate debate)..Which one?

As for signings that have worked in our favor or have giving us some sort of advantage. There haven't been many. But there have been some improvements despite some enormous busts..Do you want me to define enormous?
