Montgomery gets nod at RG
http://dcprosportsreport.com/2009/10/will-montgomery-to-start-at-rg.html
And the sad thing, he is the least I am worried about.

Re: Montgomery gets nod at RG
Mike Williams at RT is scary. He is ok at guard but he has always had problems at tackle with pass protection.

How soon until Lorenzo Alexander is back on the offensive line?

What the hell happened to Chaz RineHart!? I guess another one of Vinny's glorious draft picks panned out. His picks rarely start football games.

JC hasn't got a chance unless the o-line has a dramatic turnaround.

JC should call up Ramsey for some advise.

Re: Montgomery gets nod at RG
I have a really bad feeling that Heyer is next to limp off the field. He's a bit injury prone. I can see it happening. Edwin Williams & Batiste better be ready to play the way its goin.

Re: Montgomery gets nod at RG
JC will probably dust off the ole' Chuck and Duck playbook. He's probably going over game tape from the fall of 2003 just to see how to take the blows.

So, it's Heyer, Dockery, Rabach, Montgomery, and Williams along the O-line? Wow, I feel good about that lineup.

Re: Montgomery gets nod at RG
Dockery is nowhere near as good as people think. He's decent in run blocking, but he's not the mauler he should be given his size. He's also sub-par in pass protection and gets flagged way too much. Rabach is mediocre in both run blocking and pass protection.
Sadly, even with Samuels, our offensive line is among the worst in the NFL. Take a look at the running lanes this Sunday. Portis will get routinely hit in the backfield, guys will get little push, and rarely will you see big lanes. Then watch the Giants game and compare. |

On a good note...I think Heyer can scape by at LT for a week or two. Give up a sack or two?? of course...but few starting LT's don't do much better than that. We have just been spoiled for so long. Sure the guy cant mash anyone...but LT is for pass protection. Does anyone miss Jansen now? Just think...we tossed him so we could keep our backup interior linemen and Mike Williams...we all liked the idea at the time...but it looks pretty damn stupid right now....unless Montgomery shines and Mike Williams develops into a solid backup...not to mention Heyer establishing himself as a starter better than Jansen.... Odds were that one of these things would happen...not to mention Rhinehart developing...at this point....every single one of those was a miss... I guess we shall see on Sunday!
