a kinda interesting stat

in an article on the post it said that mark brunnell has completed less than ten passes in two of his last three games it was the first time a redskins quarterback had done that in a season since 1981 (gibbs first season) is it possible this is just a normal transition into gibbs passing game that he had predicted and that is why he has not benched brunnell. well i can hope and if so the future is looking very bright with every other part of our game coming together we are very close to breaking out.

ps the critics of gibbs can kiss my ass if they cant see that this team has more heart than any redskins team in a long time then there blind.

I dont know. I'm really trying to be optomistic, but I just dont see it here. He has played absolutley terrible, and missing WIDE OPEN guys. Those arent adjustments to the offense, its just pure quarterbacking skills. I thought if at all he would get it started against Detroit, with their terrible defense. Obviously he's gonna get another shot this week against Cincinati, so I hope he does well so we will win. However, I'm sick of arguing the point. I just dont think he is very good anymore. I truly belive however if he lays an egg this weekend, its just gonna be too little, too late, and he will be benched.

redskins: I haven't seen anyone on this board say the Redskins aren't playing hard and putting some effort in. Im with GMAC, when you're missing WIDE OPEN receivers. It's not the system. The system may need changes, but hard to tell till you can complete your high percentage passes.

Now, I hear national commentators say that this team isn't playing hard. Not sure if we're all biased or they just have to try to cover 32 teams so don't actually have a clue. I'm guessing the 2nd one =p

To comment on Daseals second point about the National Commentators... I honestly 100% in my heart belive that a bunch, not all , but a bunch of the so called " experts " know a whole lot less about the Redskins than we do. It's like one of us pretending we are experts on the Vikings and trying to point out all their problems or somthing. People just look at the box-scores and see highlights and try to act like they are Consultants for the team or somthing. I just thought I'd rant on that.

just because this team is playing with heart and playing hard doesnt mean gibbs isnt messing up by sticking with brunell,I cant believe there are people still out there thinking brunell is going to suddenly regain the fountain of youth and start playing better [ unless he can hook up with barry bonds trainer],I have a hard time believing that any other coach in the nfl would have stuck with there starter this long if he had played as bad as brunell unless they had a winning record or an expansion team with a first yr qb

On game day, I walked to the fridge and got a beer. I'm not sure but I think that distance was longer than Brunell's pass total. Get him out!

But at least you got to the fridge. If it had Brunnell, he would have walked wide right of it and ended up in the toilet.

The best stat I've heard all week relates to Philly and Dallas. A Giants fan told me that for the last 8 Monday Night Games, the team that won the MN game lost the following sunday. Well, Philly will win on Monday night and we need to keep this stat consistent with the trend. Go Skins'

I really believe that gibbs made a promise to brunnell at that dinner they had in the offseason when he was still in jacksonville, he must be keeping a promise to stand behind him no matter what. I think I am going to send gibbs the business analogy book "who moved my cheese" because it is time to move on with a new qb.

Are you really surprised that Brunell is the starter? I mean it's not a unique situation. Coughlin is staying with Kurt Warner despite being sacked 33 times, 5 INTs and 7 fumbles. Now there will not be a Rothlisberger saviour in either camp because now that we have entered the ninth week and the offensive line continues to nullify touchdowns with false starts and holding penalties, Brunell will be in there. Brunell has the worst passing rating, but he's not the fumbling, and not turning the ball over. Gibbs likde Coughling, hates turnovers, and since Brunell isn't, Gibbs is staying with him.
